The United Athletic Conference is what is currently known as the W.A.C.   And it makes sense that they are changing their name as none of the teams in the U.A.C. are in the West so calling yourself the WESTERN Athletic Conference makes no sense.

The Little Rock wrestling team will remain a part of the PAC 12 as the article mentions.

Because calling a group of 18 teams the Big 10 and a different group of 16 the Big 12 makes sense.
