Don't forget Troy Nickerson

Before my time of following collegiate wrestling, but yeah, twenty years ago ("decades").  Thanks 🙂

Does show how rare it has been for Cornell to start true freshmen.

Tell you what:  you give me instances of Mike Grey being whiny and complaining about other teams ducking Cornell wrestlers, and I'll fill you in on my relationship with Cornell wrestling.  Deal?

For claiming you aren't being defensive, you came after me about it and just can't seem to let that comment go can you?

I know what my initial statement was, I explicitly explained that my larger point was just my opinion that Grey is whiny and complains more than most and that I'm not looking to get into an internet fight.  I tried to turn this into a wrestling discussion but it's clear you aren't interested so I'll bid you adieu.  Congrats on your internet victory and have a wonderful Wednesday.

No problemo.  And you did say "elite recruits" which gets tricky.  Both Travis Lee and Gabe Dean went their Frosh years but you can argue they weren't necessarily "elite recruits".

Gabe Dean did not wrestle as a true freshman, taking his greyshirt year at FLWC.  Travis Lee *probably* did wrestle as a true freshman, although I can't confirm that.  2002 was a long time ago.

Both would have been considered elite recruits, I guess.  I added "elite" since I have no idea how many Cornell wrestlers wrestled as a true freshman, mostly being familiar with the starters.

I might have my timelines messed up but I thought he runner upped 2013 in Michigan then took 3rd in '14 at NCAA's
