Thought this was a very interesting segment given some of the conversations we've had around here about which values are important to which political ideologies. Thinking specifically of @jross. Would love to hear your thoughts on this answer.

..."that assessment of merit...that's how I view the importance of government and who I will surround myself with when we lead City Hall."

(ignore the editorializing of the tweet, just watch the video)

I hope he wins.  NYC deserves it.  They think people are leaving now with their money now just wait.

Its easy to be a non believer when you’re alive but it won’t be when you die.

His comments on judging based on merit is commendable.  That is an impressive clip in a silo.  He is articulate like Newsom except without the used car salesman / sleaze vibe.

But it’s also weird to hear it used to praise some policies that favor collective over individuals.

Also I would bet money he was given the question in advance.  He was too polished and prepared for a rare question.  His response was well crafted to be on the spot.

The happy talk belies the promises he cannot deliver that are not under the purview of the office he seeks and the programs he champions that have a history of failure, that are not new.  They have just never been properly implemented.
