I think Oklahoma State's first realistic year of being able to overtake PSU will be in 2028. In '26-'27 you're going to have Jax, Zinkin, Raney x2, and Ross all being true freshman. I think in 2028 once the redshirts are settled and you have these monster recruiting hauls with at least 1 year of experience in the room.

If I were to guess, I think this year is the only year we'll see Blaze at 133. He'll continue to mature and he's obviously going to want to compete for the Olympic spot at 65kg. So if I were to do my best guess..

125: Lilledahl dec. Spratley 3-0 PSU

133: Ono dec. Ramirez 6-0 PSU

141: Blaze dec. Jax 9-0 PSU

149: SVN dec. Swiderski 12-0 PSU

157: Robideau dec. Kasak 12-3 PSU

165: MM dec. Lockett 15-3 PSU

174: Facundo dec. Cunningham 15-6 PSU

184: Barr dec. Merrill 18-6 PSU

285: Mirasola dec. Ross 21-6 PSU

Part of me is a bit interested to see how Blaze grows, the last interview I saw of him discussing 2028 he did not rule out 57kg. He seems to walk around pretty comfortably in the high 130's, a big reason I am so bullish on Jax is I think he grows into the weight better, and I do wonder if the path of least resistance for Marcus is actually 57kg if he can do it comfortably.

I agree. Once you take Kasak, MM, Haines... SVN off the table, then you have a monster class for Oklahoma St.

I'm a bit surprised at your results at '57 and HWT though. I think Ross is going to be a monster and I don't think Kasak is going to lose at '57(in this matchup, he could still be beat).

I think Ryder has a real good chance to beat Welsh...and either of them could be 1st or 5th next year.

I mean, in anything. He's so long, so quick and he looks like he's crippling back problem and may reside in a Cathedral in Paris when he's in a stance, but then he stands up and you just realize he's got a huge back.

But you get him up to 250-255... it's gonna look like Rowlands and I want to say he could be even better... but it's Tommy Rowlands and that seems disrespectful(also REAL hard), so I'll just say I think he can be on his level.

My main thought was that Blaze will have already spent an entire college season in the PSU room, while Jax will be a true freshman. Also, Joey Blaze is bumping up this year, so I think it's likely that his brother would follow the same pattern. Obviously I could be completely wrong.. just my guess. I'd personally be surprised if we ever see Marcus at 57kg again, but who knows.

Dreshaun will be a true freshman, and Cole will be in his third season in the PSU room. I have very, very, high hopes for Ross, but I don't know if he's going to be physically mature enough as a true freshman at this point to beat Mirasola. I think Dreshaun (especially as a true freshman) my go through some growing pains getting used to wrestling guys that have been competing at D1 HWT for multiple years.

I think everything you said could be true. I am for whatever reason just a little high on Robideau's ceiling versus how much more improvement we'll see from Kasak. I honestly think Ryder's ceiling is a little bit unknown at this point, and I question why PSU would bring in Welsh (it obviously wasn't for free) if they thought Ryder had the higher ceiling. And lastly, I have no doubts about the heights that Ross can/will likely reach, but I don't know that he is going to be that guy as a true freshman. Gable was arguably the greatest heavyweight recruit of all time and lost to Anthony Cassar twice. I don't think Ross is Gable Steveson, and I think it may take a bit of time and filling out his frame before he really shows how great he can be.
