I personally don't have an issue with keeping the rankings until after the open/trials and even Fargo but why are guys that are a week or two out from starting college classes still ranked? It's a very silly thing to get upset about I know but I like to see the ranking landscape and its hard to do so when 14 kids at each weight are not even high schoolers anymore.

Fargo was less than 3 weeks ago and high school grads can wrestle there. I believe they'll be removed in the next ranking. I don't want to speak for Bray (who does the high school rankings) but I think it's a better projection of where a kid is actually at heading into college than if they were removed 3 months ago. Think Mesenbrink after U20s his senior year. He made a huge jump that summer before his first year of college.

I agree with that It was more to the new rankings that got posted today. To me at this point being u20's occur when most schools have started already this would have been the time to remove. Its also nitpicking on my end and something likely 99% of people do not care about at all, I just like to project out team dual concepts/super 32/whos'1 so I have to dig a little deeper. Thank you for the response and please checkout my u20 predictions!

I think the outgoing seniors should be removed in July sometime. By August most of them are at their new college already.  Time to shine the light on the rising juniors and seniors who are the ones being recruited.

Isn't that what class big boards are for?

Yes but individual weight class rankings are also included in big boards. I think Bray's rationale is-if high school grads are still competing against other high schoolers in tournaments like Fargo and U20 WTT, they should be ranked. Having the grads ranked also helps give a better perspective on their matchups with undergrads.

I'd imagine these most recent rankings were to give a final picture of where the outgoing seniors rank among their high school peers following their final chance to compete in a high school competition (Fargo). I personally appreciate it, because in a few years it gives the clearest picture of where guys were ranked at the true end of their high school careers. It's frustrating when some years the seniors drop out of the rankings before the dust has all settled.
