Google says that South Park Star lizzo complained a lot too.

I don’t think she did, she just released a parody of it.

I’ve said this before, but your AI needs work.

Never heard of either.  I did hear of Iizzo on South Park.     It’s quite good you should watch it.

ai summary

In the 2024 South Parkstreaming special “The End of Obesity”, Eric Cartman's doctor prescribes him “Lizzo” as a cheaper alternative to weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro. The fictional drug “Lizzo” satirizes the popularity of weight loss medications and Lizzo's message of body positivity.

  • The drug:
    The fake commercial claims “Lizzo” helps patients feel good about their weight and eat whatever they want, while minimizing physical activity. The narrator says 70% of patients no longer care how much they weigh

So a 2024 episode of South Park was complaining about a commercial from 2025?  Interesting.

No.  But she was parodied on South Park.  That’s how I know who she is.  You should watch the episode it’s comedy gold.

Ok, but I don’t see that she complained about the ad

Whom are these new people flipping out over some Dunkin’ Donuts ad similar to the Sidney sweet ad?  I have to be honest I didn’t read the authentic marketing and inclusion strategy book she quoted at the end….      And I’ll agree.   How dare they declare some white pool dude king of summer for his neighborhood   Abhorrent lol!!!

00:00:00 --> 00:00:02
yeah I just watched the Dunkin Donuts ad

00:00:02 --> 00:00:04
and it's problematic for so many reasons

00:00:04 --> 00:00:05
first of all

00:00:05 --> 00:00:07
it's certainly disappointing to see genetics brought up in a similar way

00:00:07 --> 00:00:09
as the Sydney Sweeney ad

00:00:09 --> 00:00:12
it just goes to show that there's never an innovative or original idea

00:00:12 --> 00:00:14
in Hollywood I always think about um

00:00:14 --> 00:00:15
growing up like

00:00:15 --> 00:00:16
all of the movies that came out at the same time

00:00:16 --> 00:00:19
like Ants and Bugs Life or Armageddon and Deep Impact

00:00:19 --> 00:00:22
and I'm sure there are much more modern examples that I could come up with

00:00:22 --> 00:00:24
if I wanted to but again

00:00:24 --> 00:00:27
going back to the marketing exec of the Sydney Sweeney ad

00:00:27 --> 00:00:29
thinking that they were being so “innovative” and “pushing it”

00:00:30 --> 00:00:32
you know when they say that art imitates life

00:00:33 --> 00:00:36
clearly these through lines and discussions

00:00:36 --> 00:00:39
and philosophies are percolating under the surface

00:00:39 --> 00:00:41
because of what is happening culturally

00:00:41 --> 00:00:42
not even under the surface

00:00:42 --> 00:00:45
what's happening right in front of our face is informing creative

00:00:45 --> 00:00:47
that people think is reasonable

00:00:47 --> 00:00:49
but before I loop back to the genetic end

00:00:49 --> 00:00:53
I actually wanna talk about this idea of being crowned king in this climate

00:00:53 --> 00:00:59
to put forth an ad about being crowned king weeks after the “no Kings protest”

00:00:59 --> 00:01:02
I don't understand it from a perspective of like

00:01:02 --> 00:01:04
unless you're an actual monarchy or Burger King

00:01:04 --> 00:01:07
why are you crowning anyone king in America right now

00:01:08 --> 00:01:09
but yeah

00:01:09 --> 00:01:13
“this tan? genetics I just got my color analysis back” gross

00:01:15 --> 00:01:17
you know the ad industry needs to do better

00:01:17 --> 00:01:19
these are two big brands with big budgets

00:01:19 --> 00:01:23
who went out to do full production shoots with celebrities

00:01:23 --> 00:01:28
and these were the ideas that they decided were the best idea

00:01:29 --> 00:01:30
the idea that they wanted to shoot

00:01:30 --> 00:01:32
and the campaigns that they wanted to push out

00:01:32 --> 00:01:36
and there's a massive error in judgement there

00:01:36 --> 00:01:37
um

00:01:38 --> 00:01:40
actually I do have a solution

00:01:41 --> 00:01:44
this was unplanned but this is responsible marketing

00:01:44 --> 00:01:48
my friend Lola Bakare wrote it actually happened to be quoted in it

00:01:48 --> 00:01:48
um but

00:01:48 --> 00:01:50
it's an incredible resource for marketers

00:01:50 --> 00:01:54
who want to learn how to create authentic and inclusive marketing strategy

00:01:54 --> 00:01:54
look it up

A quick search…and I’m guessing people looking to be upset about something.  A lot of articles about the ad getting criticism, but not really seeing articles actually criticizing.

Don’t have TikTok so I say that without being able to view the link.

For the record I don’t know who she is.   But she’s upset about it for some reason.

Yeah unfortunately a lot of people look for reasons to be upset or offended.

No kidding.  Life’s too short to be upset about product advertisements.

Glad to hear you weren't upset about the whole Bud-lite uproar
