Yeah, I don't particularly care to argue the merits of this one case. I'm more curious why you reflexively argued or denied it. Why your first inclination was not to believe Stanford's own reports, but to argue it as though it was a partisan issue. 

 

These universities do some VERY sensitive research. You say it's not their job to combat spying. Of course it is. You work for a defense contractor, you don't think you have security clearance and you're responsible for who is privy to the information?

How are they supposed to "combat spying?" That's ridiculous because it's rarely obvious.
