Dale Corbin is a guy I am super super high from this class that maybe does not get quite as much praise but I think he is going to be awesome.

Truzz- He is gone from his coach role I think, they have hired the long time asst I believe. Also, they lost the girls coach who took the job at King.

Long Island- Also lost girls HC who's son Fry was on the team, you would assume if dad is moving kid is as well. That does not have to be the case, but I would just guess that is the case. Long Island Section XI or Section VIII?

Truzz- Great question, to which I have no answer. I do know that PA transfer rules are notoriously difficult on the parties transferring in to a new school. Not sure if there is additional issue because he is coming from a Private, so in short....I am not sure, but great question.

he would be post season ineligible to start then their would be a hearing and he would have to proof he fits one of a select few criteria to be eligible but they seem to be all over the place in enforcement so who knows.

PIAA is a trainwreck.

so who knows what they'll do. they've sanctioned teams and individuals for a kid who has always lived in his district going from a private and enrolling in his legitimate public HS.

and they've also let others go.

Notre Dame had to wrestle AAA last year for 'transfers'. (they're a freaking private school) from a few years ago

but McCort - who are represented by 5 states, were AA.

it's nonsense.

Regan is automatically ineligible to compete for McCourt in the postseason. He could technically be ruled ineligible for the entire year if the district rules it an athletic-motivated transfer (which I doubt they will do). My guess is that he will miss all postseason events but will get to go to Ironman, Powerade, Etc.

right, their rulings are all over the place. no consistency.

transfers after entering HS are all that matter when combined with how far the team went in team states to determine schools forced up. most of mccort and faith transfers are pre HS. mccort has had a few lately but not sure what the total transfer numbers are to be forced up.

Willie would have a much better idea than I would but if Regan somehow was given post season eligibility I think that Mccort team could potentially be the best high school team of all time.

If Regan was not eligible, how much and when would McCort wrestle him? He is obviously really good and talented and going to be a force in any bracket he is in. However, interesting to see his need to compete versus what the team does with him. Sometimes hard to juggle that for sure. That being said kind of begs the question about kids and competing and what colleges need to see. I am always interested in this because my kid does not have a traditional "season" per say at Valiant College Prep, but still gets in a lot of the major event stuff. Additionally, there are always college opens, especially in PA where there are a ton. Their transfer rules are goofy as Willie noted.

Valiant seems to be doing a lot more folk events than they did at their inception. I remember when Kyler beat Mason at fargo and then I believe had a bit of a down super 32 the sentiment seemed to be the kids were a lot better at free. I've noticed they have been doing the PNL stuff and did the duals with sem and lake highland last year on top of most of them going to super 32 which is really good. They also had some guys enter reno TOC the last few years I believe. I think if kids wrestle the national circuit the high school season does not really matter all that much. I think Angelo ferrari wrestled his texas schedule his last two years and ironman and that was that so the idea that you need 100 matches in a year I do not think is the case for every kid. As to the Regan question I would assume he is going there for training mostly and they may be able to enter him in ironman since its an out of state competition so it'll be the traditional 14 weights rather than PA's 13.

Valiant has done a lot of the PNL stuff, all of it really which has been great for them. In the fall it is a PNL regional, S32, then the PNL National. They did dual LHP last year and two years ago they went to the St. Christopher's duals in VA as well as had an event with LHP, so that has been good. They had some kids go to College Opens last year which was good for them. Dean wrestled in the Embry Riddle Open, the Doane Open and RTOC College open, placing 3rd, 1st, and 3rd respectively. I think colleges see enough there because so much of HS season matches for really high level kids are so one sided.

Valiant also sent a group to Folkstyle Nationals (Barrio, Anderson, Cardinal, Fluckiger) and VA Beach this year (I think like 20 or so kids). The NHSCA group was a really good size group, so yes, you are correct they are doing some more folk. The FS events are kind of open, so it is easier to compete in those.

Larkin and Meza met in the RTOC finals a two years ago, both were HS seniors with Larkin winning via major. On the S32 a few years ago Larkin dropped a match to Vince Robinson, so in hindsight probably not as down as thought at the time by many. I am excited to see those Larkin boys compete this year in the lineup at ASU both will be really really good in there. Meza was ranked top 25 ish in December while he used his five events for iowa State. So good to see VCP kids having success in the folk realm as well. They have had a few in the Pittsburgh Classic (Dapper Dan) as well as some in WNO, so some really good events there. Most of the VCP kids drop from ranking for non competition and also they do not see the kids that are ranked during the year so it is goofy and hard to rank them sometimes. Even still with college results it is hard to have anything to weigh them against, that being said I think coaches see what they need, and I agree 100 matches are not needed.

Christian Davis true Frosh for Lander took 3rd in NCAA D II this year. Derek Guanajuato had a top 20 win as a true frosh two years ago, so again I think they are definitely having some folk results but I think the FS results overshadow that for sure. Obv, I keep up with them much more than most.

I think that Forrest or Herring going 132 and Butler 144 with McMullen being the 157 is a real possibility as well

Unless something changes where he is ruled ineligible for anything PIAA he will be able to compete in every non-postseason event but nothing that is the official postseason.

That team still might lose to FCA. The non-PIAA weights might favor BMC, and the PIAA weights might favor FCA. Could also see one being better in tournaments and another being better in a dual setting.

106-120 TBD (IDK if they have any incoming Freshmen or not) Young NR and Yoder NR would be in here

126- Bachmann #4

132- Racich NR

138- Bachmann #2

144- Botero NR

150- M. Wagner NR (State third last year (beat Butler at State Duals))

157- S. Wagner NR (Really solid, has never wrestled in the postseason)

165- Weidemoyer INJ (Top 5-10 nationally when healthy)

175- N. Singer #11

190- Waters #1

215- J. Singer #12

285 Effendian #6
