Penn State was not the high bidder. Presumably Iowa and Ok St offered bigger bags but Welsh wanted to be in the best room with the best training partners. 
 

He also confirmed he’ll be wrestling 184, so it’ll be interesting to see if Ryder portals out or stays to win the spot. 
 

Welsh said that being in crowded room doesn’t matter to him because his goal is to be a champion and if he can’t win a starting spot at Penn State then he’s not ready to be a champion anyway.

I don’t know why Iowa would be involved, and don’t know why he’d want to go there, but are you saying he’s not better than Patrick Kennedy or Gabe Arnold? Or maybe that Tom wouldn’t start the better wrestler?

I do actually, but the 174 guys aren’t. And Welsh can definitely make 174, said he’s wrestling around there through the summer. I’m sure going to 184 because of Haines.

But this was also a guy who said back in the early winter Iowa would compete for the NC if they added Figueroa. In actuality, they would have only lost by what, 93?

different weight, and everyone of Roccos opponents on the way to the finals would be big underdogs against Angelo.

Rocco just said hes going 184 and will wrestled 79 kg for Freestlye b.c it is only a few weigh-ins - so clearly no longer wants to wrestle 174 for folk

didn't the other side of bracket have 3 national champ because carter screwed everything up secondary to his injury? if seeding was any different there's a chance he doesn't even AA his freshmen year.

I think Rocco and Barr are about the same at the moment skill wise and I think Ferrari is better than both. Any other questions?

He did beat the 27/11/7 seed and the 3 Edmond Ruth.  Not the hardest path to the finals in the last 100 years.

The other was at...what should have been their biggest rival the last 2 and next 2-3 years and a guy he wrestled in the finals.

Also, encouraging a Freshmen who he thinks highly of...when MOST other Freshmen would jsut hit the portal and go elsewhere makes a whole lot of sense.
