Am I the only one that is disturbed by this? We see so many points won/lost on the far outer edges of the mat and for some stupid reason there's a table covering one side. Aside from the obvious, it's also a safety issue, no?

There is not enough floor space.

NCAA rulebook states there must be at least 5-feet of mat space from the OOB line.  I'm sure Resilite made the mats to meet this requirement, but it seems the scorer's tables are on (or overlap) the mat.
