I thought it was tight in Welsh-Ryan, but this is a whole new level of intimate. 

There will be a ton of stoppages when one wrestler has two feet in the circle and the other has one or two out. Not ideal.

I did this rant on the prior message board during one of the NCAAs I was at.  It's like this every year.  It's ridiculous. 

It's not only a likely cause of key stoppages but a substantial safety danger, such as when RBY and I think Desanto crashed into the table. 

They gotta think of something.  I've always wondered if they could move the table away from the center of the mat.  That wouldn't be ideal but I'm not sure it's not feasible.

Only options — bigger venue with more floor space, smaller mats (yuck), or fewer mats (longer rounds).

 

odd question.  Why don’t teams just use these small ish ncaa regulation mats during the season to get used to wrestling in a smaller space.  Aren’t most of the dual / college mats significantly bigger?
