The girl I used to love, lives in this yellow house
Yesterday she passed me by, she doesn't wanna know me now

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Can you see the real me?
Can ya?
Can ya?
Can you see the real me?
Can ya? Oh, yeah!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I ended up with a preacher, full of lies and hate
I seemed to scare him a little
So he showed me to the golden gate

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Can you see the real me, preacher? Preacher!
Can you see the real me, preacher?

DROWNED

There are men high up there fishing
Haven't seen quite enough of the world
I ain't seen a sign of my hero
And I'm still diving down for pearls

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Oh, let me flow into the ocean
Yeah, let me get back to the sea
Let me be stormy and let me be calm
Let the tide in, and set me free

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'm flowing under bridges
Then flying through the sky
I'm traveling down cold metal
Just a tear in baby's eye

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I am not the actor
This can't be the scene
But I am in the water
As far as I can see

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Oh, I'm remembering distant memories
Recalling other names
Rippling over canyons
And boiling in the train

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What'll you do when you get lonely
And nobody's waiting by your side?
You've been running and hiding much too long
You know it's just your foolish pride

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down
Like a fool, I fell in love with you
You turned my whole world upside down

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Let's make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane
Please, don't say we'll never find a way
And tell me all my love's in vain

I loved The Who growing up.

Saw The Who only once, but Daltrey twice lol.  The first time I saw Daltrey was in 1985.  Before cellphones, I was just a 16 year old waiting outside in the December to be picked up by my father.  As I was waiting, I saw the tour bus only about 50 ft away and people were boarding.  My buddy and I walked up and were able to catch Roger, tell him how great he was an get an autograph.  He was much kinder and more gracious than he needed to be.  And short.

Took my son, who loves rock, to see The Who in 2022 when he was 17.  They performed a very Tommy heavy set early on, but focused more on Quadrophenia later.  No Punk/Godfather though! The boy and I then saw Daltrey last summer.

Excellent!

I saw them twice myself... @ MSG in NYC in '79... 1st tour after Keith Moon's death w/ Kenny Jones behind the drumkit.

Went w/ my brothers and my best friend. It was just as I would suspect it would be... FANTASTIC and LOUD! (We were opposite the stage and in the upper tier even!)

The second time was several years afterwards @ Shea Stadium... early October and it cold & drizzly. Not as great.

The Clash opened for them... THAT was a good set.
