I'm watching Bloomsburg vs Lock Haven on my other TV.  I feel for the program and for Stutz.  Bloomsburg needs an inection of talent - someway - somehow.  I think it's realistic for them to improve recruiting if they have so much as a single scholarship to offer.  They're located in a wrestling hotspot.

agree on being in a hot spot as far as HS wrestling / however they are just not a D1 caliber program

the would be hard pressed to beat fellow pa  school ESU (D2)

Good win.  Not super sharp but what would any expect.

Didn't get to watch, but heard he looked a bit winded. Saw the win clip and he looked to be limping as well. Any chance he's back in the AA status from what you've seen?

Either way, impressive AF for him to be back on the mat.

In other news, sounds like they're having Rocco Welsh RS. That's a bummer.

Sammy has severe nerve damage in his left leg. Thats why its smaller than the right and he was visibly limping on it.

I think he's gotta get a few matches under his belt. He looked great in the first period then exhausted in the later periods (rightfully). Emotionally and physically. I think we get a great Sammy as the year goes on. He's just gotta get his feet back under him.

He needs more matches preferably at some opens and eventually a drop to 157.  He looked like a good imitation of himself yesterday technique wise.  It was a very impressive performance for a guy who nearly died and was partially paralyzed for awhile.

I'm not an OSU fan, but I was in town and went. Such an unbelievable moment to see him put it all on the line again on a D1 mat just 15 months after being shot. As others have said and you can see in the video; if we're honest, he likely won't see high-level results until his leg and general physical fitness progress a little further. Being there, though, and seeing it unfold, it just doesn't matter at this point. "Where he fits" and genuine expectations feel like questions for some weeks down the road after he's had a fair shot to evaluate himself and calibrate his goals and ambitions. I think he's penciled in for Sunday again versus Edinboro.

Didnt quite look like AA in this match but he's got the whole season to sharpen up.  I don't think size is an issue.

Agreed. Was anyone else surprised that the big bump up wasn't no thang for Sasso? I thought it would be.

Great to see him back on the mat. I hope he's feeling it now that he's got that first match, and a dub, under his belt.
