is anything at all going well for the Sun Devils? I'm not watching live but the results seem brutal. Vasquez getting lit up it seems like.

No. Basically banking on a good end to the season carried hard by Figgy Baby, Shultz and Larkin when he gets in the line up. Without a good finish things may look scary for the program now that Martori is retired.

Luke Stanich gets the Hammer for his win over PJ Composto of Penn, 8-2 @ 141.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Max Brignola also gets a Hammer for the B&W w/ a win over NC St's Derek Fields, by a 7-3 score.

Micheal Beard wins (barely) over the Illini's Zac Braunagel, 7-6... LEHIGH's third Hammer for the day.

The ILLINI ended up with 5 hammers, but one was for Caelan Riley in Pool D. I think he's at a minimum a Pool C wrestler, more likely, Pool B. Smart move by the coach to give him some confidence. I don't know how long Ramazan Attasauov will be out of the lineup, although he did make the trip.

Lucas Byrd, Danny Pucino, Kannon Webster and Braeden Scoles went undefeated and won Pool A hammers, and they are all still undefeated on the season. That's gonna be a Murderer's Row.

Zac Braunagel had a one-point loss in the finals to Michael Beard. That score was reversed when they met two years ago in the NCAA tournament. All in all, superb weekend for ILLINOIS. Here's a meme chart for Coach Poeta after the ASU dual:

Only if he doesn't RS this season (of which, so far, he IS.)

I am sort of hoping with it being Beards last year they roll out Brignola and stanich and just see where the chips fall.

Illinois and Lehigh had big days with a lot of strong results.

Penn had a pretty good day as well with some key wins by at least Incontrera and underclassmen Swisher, Wasilewski, and Gallagher.  Max Hale will be back next semester at 184.  Not sure what is up with Cosgrove at 197 but he has not yet seen action.  At 285, frosh Pardo is undersized but has a good motor - which we do not always see at that weight.
