I can't imagine the misery of 2.5 months of sunrise after 8 am.

My order of preference:

Permanent Savings Time

Permanent Standard Time

Here in Seattle, we drive to work in the dark and drive home from work in the dark.   I moved to MN in 1994 and was pleasantly surprised to find that the snow on the ground made a real difference.   I reflected enough light that I felt like I was driving at least one way in the light.   It was wonderful.   The cold not so much, but it was light out at least on one of the drives.   I loved my time in MN but would not want to go back to that extreme weather, both ways really.   HOT and HUMID in the winter, BONE Chilling COLD and  DRY in the winter.

If I agree I will need my own gofundme page.

I have a friend that purchased a house in NZ.   His wife is from NZ.   Really nice place, but they have to leave every 6 months to avoid confiscatory taxes.

I was too young to remember that.   I have to say when I lived in HI, it was nice not having to change times for the 4 years we were there.    But daylight was more stable with the change in sunrise and sunset being about 1.5 hours year to year.

This website is interesting to look at at the differences for different cities.
