Why do Democrats spend so much more on their candidates to get elected than the Republicans spend?

Why do the Democrats have to spend so much more money to get voters to vote for their candidates? If they have such a good product, wouldn't it stand to easy it would be easy sell to the voters. According to sources both parties combined have spent 16 billion dollars on all the federal campaigns this election cycle. ( President , Senate and House}. That is a great deal of money.

Well when you have a serious pattern of not paying the venues the bill for your campaign rallies, you’re bound to spend less money….no?

If they spend more, it is because they raise more.
