Too early? IIRC we're only about 10 weeks out from small Worlds. Any word on who's going? I'm not even clear on the qualification process.

It would be fun to see Taylor go at 92kg (5% chance of happening). Maybe Vito and Yianni/Zain will be good to go at 61 and 70? RBY at 61 for MX? Zahid?

If I had to pick the US reps today based purely off of guesswork I’d go

61: Vito

70: Yianni

79: Nolf

92: Zahid

I think there’s also a very good chance all these guys will medal!

That looks like a decent list. But if we go with OTT results it should be Nick Lee, then either Andrew Alirez, or Jesse Mendez in front of Yianni.

I hear that and would agree but it sounds like Yianni had a ROUGH cut going down and I don’t think those guys are going to be at the 70 KG trials considering they’ll be at 141 in the college season.

That is news to me, especially when given the choice between 70 and 65 at WTT he chose 65.

That was also 3 years ago at an Olympic weight. He could also very likely go back down and it would be an easier cut without dealing with the concussion.

It was May 2023 WTT.

If you’re talking about 2023 trials he had the bye to the finals of an Olympic weight of course he’s not going to give that up.

What do you mean by qualification process? From USAW or from UWW? I don't believe there's any UWW qualification for Worlds. USAW will have this- https://usawrestlingevents.com/event/2400279802

Sorry, I meant selection process. My scrambled eggs brain is still in Olympics mode. Thanks for the link, I was wondering earlier if our reps were going to be picked from the current national team and OTT results.
