Your rule fails to mention the literal thousands of times a wrestler has disengaged in the waning seconds without a match-determining point being awarded.

I am aware of one instance. That's hard to explain, don't you think?

The new aphorism: Don't leave the match in the hands of anti-American bias.

I’m sure there have been other instances.

On the flip side, isn’t it pretty often in folk that people complain that stalling seems to often NOT be called in the last 10 seconds or so?

Very true. The wrestler had been stalling for 2 minutes  . The other wrestler has taken 4 good shots. The score is 7 to 6 . No stall call until 10 seconds left.

Interesting, they didn't challenge a call, they challenged the lack of a call, a situation where either the call or lack thereof was very subjective.  If the call wasn't made during the match, I don't think anyone can justify making it after the match.
