Holy smokes.  What's next - asbestos and lead paint?

I like what NZ did with tobacco.  Nobody born on or after a specified date can  purchase tobacco, thus setting the last generation able to buy tobacco.

Question:   Will that date ever change or be removed?   Is that possible?   These things go in cycles.   Some years ago smoking was on the wane, and now it seems to be on the rise.   The new younger crop always seems to rebel.  Regardless of facts and data.   You know, "it just won't happen to me."
