Nice get for ASU.    They have a lot of depth from  133-157 and very thin after that. Didn't Negron have one more year left?

Negron never took a RS. He used his covid year last year for his fifth year.

Pierson was as high as 144 or 150 this last year wasn't he before dropping for U20s to 61 KG right?

I like this pickup for them.

He was bumped up to 152 but a majority of his matches for HS were 138 and a few at 145. He just wrestled at 63kg.  Seems he will be a 141/149.

So this last year would have been Junior eligible correct?

I believe he qualifies for OLY-shirt.

Use it.  Transfer to ASU.  Have Pierson wrestle as a True Frosh.

I would guess 149. I think Kaleb Larkin is looking to wrestle 157.

With a covid year, would he still have 2 more years? Can he use another Olympic RS year, he already used one?

I am not sure.  Because of Micic being able to use one last go at the age of 27, I am going to say no.

I'm not sure, but it would make sense that a qualification from a previous olympic cycle would not be used. If a wrestler won an event prior to the last Olympics to qualify them, but  did not win that same event or maybe did not place at the same event, then I don't think they should qualify for the current olympic cycle. That makes sense to me, but I am not sure that's accurate in reality.

2. "Previous U17, U20, U23 World Medalist (UWW)"      That could end up being quite a stretch from a U17 world medalist to Olympic redshirt year.  An athlete who graduates at 19... redshirt... free COVID year... 3 years of wrestling.... you end up at the end of a second Olympic cycle since you won a world medal... add in a mission and you are in the 3rd Olympic cycle from when you medaled.  There will be no free year for some kids, but you still add in a late graduation at 19 or 20, church mission, gray shirt, redshirt, medical shirt, 3 years of competition and then an Olympic redshirt, you end up pretty far removed from that U17 medal.
