Could have a solid squad this year.

Inspired by the Seth Nevills discussion.

Projected lineup/rankings from wrestlestat, with some rough point projections by me:

125: #19 Braxton Brown: 25-8 as a RSFR, 1-2 at NCAA's.   3-4 pts?

133: project to DNQ

141: #35 Kal Miller: 18-18 as a true frosh, 1-2 at NCAA's.  2-3 pts?

149: #22 Ethen Miller: 27-9 as a RSFR, 1-2 at NCAA's.  3-4 pts?

157: #21 Michael North: 16-10 as a RSSO, DNQ.  2 pts?

165-184: project to DNQ

197: #7 Jaxon Smith: 23-8 as a RSFR, 2-2 (R12) at NCAA's.  8-10 pts?

285: #25 Seth Nevills: 13-4 in last full season in 2020 at PSU.  Seems @nhs67 is high on his potential for this year.  I'm not quite that high but could certainly see him at least in the blood round.   6-8 pts?

So a total of 24-31 points?  28 was a tie for 20th last year, and 24.5 was 25th. 31 would've been 15th.

125, 141, and 149 could all 0-2 at NCAAs or they could win 2-4 matches and mid-AA.  I wouldn't be surprised by either.  They all improved quite throughout the season last year and I expect another pretty good leap.

I think 197 and 285 have the same mid-AA peak potential, but have a higher floor.  I would expect both to win at least two matches at NCAAs.

Maryland could have as many as five (5) AAs next year.  I expect two.  Let's put the over/under at 3.5.

I think if they ball out at NCAAs they could see in your higher range and I wouldn't be surprised.  Just like I wouldn't be surprised to see them around 15-20 points depending on how the brackets line up for the big guys.

Alex Clemsen~ "I told Damon Evans (Maryland Director of Athletics) in our interview, four years to be competitive, six years to be good." Damon referenced how other candidates had said they could do it in a shorter amount of time, to which Alex replied "Well, they lied to you."

Watch for Dario Lemus as a true freshman starter at 133

If he was 138 in the fall prior to his senior year, do you think he will be able to hold 133 consistently?

It's a valid question although from what i understand that is the plan for now.  There have been some that have cut from 138 in HS to 133 in college like Mickey Phillippi.  Takes a lot of discipline to keep up for so many years
