125: Malik Heinselman vs. Eddie Ventresca - Malik by a decision. Cooper Flynn could also wrestle. 3-0

I'll be shocked if we do. I think it's Decatur.

Don't the five attached only qualify for true frosh?  If he (Decatur) wrestles, I think it makes his shirt pulled.

That's a fact jack. I guess we'll find out how hurt D'Emilio is?

Man... the more I think about it the more I am thinking Mendez might Tech or even Pin Latona.

Latona's major claim to fame was is Comacho victories during 2021.  NCAAs had no Ivies and I am pretty sure botth Latona and Comacho, who were basically touted as #2/3 for much of the season, were exposed.

One main attribute he had going for him at 125 was his length.  He isn't going to have that as much at 133 and especially will not against Mendez.  It is a pretty bad matchup for him.

Starting at 149 tonight.

Strategic?

If the dual is on the line, does Decatur go or Bouzakis?

Maybe it was just Sasso getting the first match of his 'senior' season at home?

Sasso just stopped wrestling there with 30 seconds to go...

I don't care if he is 5'2" tall.  Kharchla needs to be 174.

He needs to go 157.

Damn.

He's stuck there for the year. He was pretty bad, just like Kharch the week before.

This weight management isn't a new thing for these guys. Early losses are still probably going to have an effect on seeds at NCAA.  Both are going to have to suffer through this season just to move up and maybe be happy next season.  Not convinced Paddy is the answer at 57, "but it's early." Not sure what the parameters are on that phrase?  Can it be, "early" up until the B1G Championship or is it the B1G season?

You say he is stuck, but do you not think Sasso beats him at 157 if he goes up?  Or does it not matter?

Of course I believe Sasso beats Paddy. No question. I just don't believe it matters. That part of the lineup has been set since last season.  It was planned for and the guys know this.  I wouldn't be bothered if it doesn't play out, but I would be shocked if it doesn't.

So VTech won the flip and chose to start at 149, I guess?

That put helped VT out at 141 and 149.

That's what happened. Good call by Robie getting the biggest weight cutter to wrestle first. Bouzakis is too small, no matter when he wrestled.
