I read this earlier and thought "this guy is allergic to entertainment." Then I was watching the Tyson documentary on Netflix and saw the Spinx walkout and remember loving the middle-finger-to-showbusiness of it all: No robe, no "song," no hype-man. Just the most menacing man on the planet.

... so I wonder how long it's gonna take before the Cowboy media blitz turns glitz and revolting. How long before I hate this sh*t?

Edit: I mean cowboy hats? C'mon.

Sphinx? Is this a riddle?

I have never watched this show, but it gets a ton of mileage on this forum (for obvious reasons). Typically not a huge show person for whatever reason (I crush movies but mentally struggle with the hurdle of shows with multiple episodes and seasons)...What about this is so great and illuminating? My uninformed speculation is that it's a bunch of episodes with clips of wrestling and practice, random short interviews with people, etc. Is there much to this beyond a docuseries that allows us wrestling content in the same vein as other sports get with 30 for 30 and behind the scenes crap on ESPN and stuff? Or is there wrestling to be watched? Curious if the draw here is that there is so little content that this is novel and interesting, or if there is actually some quality info and insight here regarding OkSU?

Regardless, happy that content like this is out there and exists and that season 2 is underway as well. Good for the sport in any form, hopefully it pulls in some randoms

Hey, I'm sorry I missed your comment until just now.

Naturally, there is not much wrestling in the series. They will show clips from goes in practice, they will show clips of key moments in recent matches that David or the athlete are talking about, but generally we have seen the matches before the episodes come out.

What I enjoy is that they talk about the highs and lows the different athletes are going through during the season. Ie: Dee Lockett knocks off Caliendo and they talk about what went well in the match and how it will effect the athlete moving forward. Dee has a very disappointing NCAA tournament and they show the heartbreak and discuss how it effects the athlete and the coaches talk about handling that situation.

I love the human side of sports. Getting a glimpse at the personalities, attitudes, and mindset of the athletes just makes watching them compete much more personal and I feel more invested. If you don't care about OKST or the wrestlers, then either A. You'll be bored and not enjoy it, or B. You'll become a fan. I'd bet you lean a lot more towards the B side of that scale though.

I think what makes this different than a 30:30 or other similar docs that follow a team is that they release episodes while they are still relevant. Lockett loses to Ruiz and Robideau gets upset by Larkin at B12s? I'm looking forward to the next episode of Stilly Boys to hear David and those guys talk about what happened and how they're going to move forward. I'm not a big "show watcher" either, but I'll make time for these throughout the season. I'd encourage you to watch the most recent episode since it's first for this season. It's only 26 minutes and you'll know whether or not you enjoy the content after watching. A lot of the episodes or more in depth when covering recent results.

There’s a movement in wrestling as PSU grads leave the nest and start coaching… this is the best inside look at that movement whether or not you’re an OSU fan.
