He’s what almost 23 years old.  The 5 for 5 rule is coming.  What is he competing with?  Bo basset for the oldest senior in the history of the sport?  Can’t get off bottom or win a wrestle off this year … or compete in an open tournament unattached….

but sure.  He’s a toss up with an actual ncaa champ in a sport he has yet to take the mat.

Wasn't he U20 last year?

That means at most he would be 21 this year.

Masanosuke Ono, the Japanese freestyle wrestler who committed to Penn State (PSU), was born on February 10, 2004. As of May 2026, he is 22 years old.

Key details about Masanosuke Ono:

• Background: A 2024 Senior World Champion (61 kg) and U20 World Champion, he committed to Penn State to wrestle in the NCAA.

Ono will never be the starter at Penn st

one would think he would have wrestled a few times this year. He was brought in to coach freestyle and train with the Penn st guys and they can use NIL to pay for him to be there

No that can't be true, Cael just felt the program was in debt to fan favorite Braeden Davis for his contributions.
