why is Faber still headlining anything with so many exciting young wrestlers out there?

I have to disagree hard, this looks so bad compared to 07. I am only excited for Nolf vs Blaze

This card is weak.

Because wrestling fans like us will tune in to RAF 08 regardless, but UFC and other casual fight fans will tune in because of Davlishvili-Cejudo. Making that match as big a deal as possible will only increase interest for these casual fans.

The goal is to get as big an audience and make as much money for everybody, including our wrestlers, as possible - this is the way.

The only change I would make to the lineup is to put the Maroulis bout just before the Snyder bout. She is one of the RAF champs, and casual fans may be more aware of her than Zahid Valencia or Aeodon Sinclair.

[Ohio Elite]

Hopefully Lance Palmer can finally get a win

[JMill]

Cejudo scratched. Merab not taking an alternate opponent. Bummer.

RAF 8 Fight Card (FOX Nation at 8 p.m. ET)

Arman Tsarukyan vs. Urijah Faber

Kyle Snyder vs. Rizabek Aitmukhan

Zahid Valencia vs. Aeoden Sinclair

Anthony Cassioppi vs. Shamil Sharipov

Helen Maroulis vs. Alexis Janiak

Real Woods vs. Anthony Ashnault

Jason Nolf vs. Joey Blaze

Vladimer Khinchegashvili vs. Johnni DiJulius

Lance Palmer vs. Cayden Henschel

Jordan Oliver vs. Mike Vanbrill

Darian Cruz vs. Lucas Byrd

[flyingcement]

Both Cruz and Byrd are from places that I have spent formative years of my youth.  Close match.  Not too much action.  But Byrd eeks it out.

[flyingcement]

Oliver vs Van Brill got chippy at the end.  Not sure why Van Brill would talk shit after that.

[JMill]

JO 5-0 over Van Brill. Van Brill tried the Poullas approach clubbing, not much else. JO tells Van Brill he’ll settle it outside then calls out Zain.

[GlassPrison]

I’m really interested to see Sinclair wrestle Zahid

[JMill]

Henschel did better against Palmer than I expected, losing 3-2.

The broadcast is so much better with Shane Sparks replacing whoever the guy was before him… Chael is a huge asset, but he doesn’t always do his homework or pay attention. The woman (name escapes me) has improved greatly… getting close to “wrestler’s girlfriend” level of knowledge… needs to get to wrestling coach’s wife level, though.

[JMill]

Khinchegashvili over DiJulius 8-5.. solid match for DiJulius.

[GlassPrison]

Nolf looks great and is fun to watch.  Love that he is active with RAF.

[JMill]

Nolf vs Blaze… 11-2. Nolf says he’s unretired. Not sure if that means just wrestling RAF or if we’ll see him take a shot at world teams.

[GlassPrison]

It would be great to see him competing for world teams again.

[Truzzcat]

How did Real beat Sujeet.

Ashnault looks like he could compete too.  Honestly impressed by Ashnualt.

Good question. You think he even makes the team again? I think he loses 2 straight at final x.

I am sort of wishing he was not sitting because I do not think he is a top 2-3 guy on the 65kg ladder based on his last 3 matches.

I agree.

[JMill]

Ashnault misses a flying squirrel to lose 7-2.. only needed a push-out to win, but why not?

“Nobody thought I could make the World Team”… Woods heard you guys talking about him.

[GlassPrison]

Missed most of that match.  Sounds like Real was not impressive eh?  Watching from the hospital with a baby on the way
