Thought I read somewhere that MM was the OW?

That would be a bit of a travesty.  Hodge...totally ok with that, however, seeing a true frosh go undefeated while beating a guy going for his third title is the OW of this tournament.

Is it possible we are already under appreciating the feats these young men are achieving?

He won 4 decisions, not OW caliber IMO

Half serious … age doesn’t make ur more dominant.  Or class.  Not saying Jax wasn’t more dominant than mm.

Yeah...and ONE of those against a senior, two-time champ...definitely OW caliber!

That's fair, but MM is the better wrestler and had the better tourney. Clear winner

I was speaking about Vega as the OW.

Like he said, if we're talking Hodge, then it's clear.

MOW often goes to whoever beat the best opponent.  It's hard to say the guy who beat the undefeated 2Xer didn't have the best tourney.

But honestly I don't care.  MOW is a bit of a meaningless award that is quickly forgotten.

I’ve always thought it usually goes to who had the most dominant tournament…MDs, TFs, Pins…MM hammered his way thru minus the Dec against the UNC kid..close score, not a close match. TFing the guy who’s been #2 at the weight for 2 yrs also is pretty dominant (dare I say outstanding).

But you’re right, in the end it’s a meaningless award few remember. And I wouldn’t have a problem if it went to the 133, 141, 149, 157, or 165 winner…those stuck out as the biggest wins due to being Fr, big upset, dominant win, etc.

OW frontrunner is #2 Vega. Beating #3 Hardy and then #1 Mendez. Doubt many saw that coming.

#5 Robideau made a good case for himself... beating #1 PJ Duke and then #2 Antrell Taylor in a row. Nice.
