I would have thought he would have been way too measured to come up with that at this 11 hour - so me thinking this was part of an arranged strategic move. But may be he was just being honest and I’m too cynical

He did not say it was encouraged by coaches he said he would have preferred to wrestle at 92 and I concluded that he was encouraged by the coaches and the federation

The reason I’m a bit doubtful about the interview that he said he does not like cutting weight and he did it because he was encouraged by the coaches is that it’s published on the official Iranian federation official instagram account. Seems to go against the grain for him to candidly say it there and then for the federation to sanction it and post it with their official blessing.
