  2. Gotta run. Ai had an interesting take on your question So what might Republicans and Democrats say about hyperbole? Republican View (Generalized) Pragmatic exaggeration: Many conservatives embrace "truthful hyperbole" as a legitimate rhetorical style. A famous example is Donald Trump’s own term—coined by his ghostwriter in The Art of the Deal—to describe exaggeration used to emphasize or persuade rather than deceive Wikipedia+1. Cultural flair: This style is also rooted in a broader tradition within conservative media and politics—using bold, dramatic rhetoric to captivate audiences or make a point stick WikipediaThe Times of Israel. Democratic View (Generalized) Caution against overuse: Democrats often criticize the use of hyperbole in public discourse, especially when it veers into misinformation or defamation. While hyperbole per se isn’t inherently false, when politicians overstate to the point of misleading, many Democrats raise concerns about truthfulness in civic debate. Push for factual clarity: There's typically a stronger emphasis on grounding statements in accuracy and nuance—especially amid concerns over misinformation and "alternative truths"

  4. I got into an argument about this elsewhere, don’t want to give away my opinion yet but curious of the wrestling community’s opinion.
  5. And someone gets so triggered he can't sleep it off......nor read.
  6. What kind of stand would you like me to take in DC, from South Florida? PS, murder rate is a 12% decrease in DC over last year. So again, the data suggests the DC LEO is in fact taking the stand and doing their job, but you have shown here no respect for them so no surprise. Need a kleenex??
  7. I saw an interview with an elderly lady. She was so appreciative they were there and said it was absolutely needed.
  8. A hundred murders so far this year, but you’re not going to take a stand.
  9. He quits when he knows he’s toast.
  10. Probably need a larger sample size to know.
  11. This is the kind of thread that makes me jealous that I do not have the same kind of shared history as you guys. On the other hand, I could do ear modeling.
  12. Yes, and that's as far as I will engage in yet another attempt to shift.
  13. Pistols at dawn. In one of the other threads I made the point that this was just accounting, not an argument for "best".
  14. So you do or don’t think he should be arrested ?
  15. It could mean that, but I think we both know that's not what he was trying to say, being that all the lead up to this is the crime was being allowed to happen rampantly and nothing was being done about it, and by the fact that he didn't argue that in response, but as usual tried to make a shift. It could just as easily mean the local law enforcement was in fact doing the job and didn't need the military to be doing law enforcement activities. I don't know either way, I'm not in DC, and don't really trust the soundbites they're giving us. Just pointing out that the data doesn't necessarily show "change is in the air, boss". Just seems like more grandstanding from my perspective.
  16. wouldn't less arrests mean the presence is deterring??
  17. Did I say, or imply that? Improved comprehension skills would allow you to see my response you quoted was geared toward the response that those pardoned after assaulting police officers were “wrongfully arrested”. Brush up and try to keep up.
  18. You think that crazy guy yelling fascist was justified and or should not have been arrested ? The subway bandit. We need a good good name for him.
  19. The lady pedestrians in their vicinity seem to be smiling a lot.

  21. It’s a sad state when we’re chin wiping so much that assaulted law enforcement officers is “wrongful arrests”. Well, depending on why they are assaulting the police officers I guess.
  22. Good number of tweets about dc. They’re funny https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8BdMjS4/
  23. How many wrongful prosecutions were there yesterday?
  24. I think this is specifically associated with the new boots on the ground. So I suspect that is in addition to normal arrests. I’ve no idea if pardons were issued yesterday. Were they?
  25. So, on the topic of change is in the air...just for comparitive purposes...in 2024 DC averaged 56 arrests per day. But I'm curious how many presidential pardons were issued for violent and/or destructive crimes committed in DC yesterday.
  26. Maybe they shouldn’t treat their LEOs like trash and let them do their jobs and they wouldn’t be so understaffed too https://www.fox5dc.com/news/police-union-president-says-mpd-is-facing-staffing-crisis.amp
