Theres no wonder why college has more attendance and more viewers. There are many more d1 colleges with teams than there are countries with teams. In college or highschool each wrestler wrestles more matches and packed into in a shorter season. I watch Sadulaev and then dont even expect to see him again for months. I don't even try to find out when he'll wrestle next. Theres no language barrier so we can understand the interviews. We see more displays of emotion from college coaches than national ones.

The thing is, I don't look down on somebody who avoided the draft. You don't want to go to war? Understandable. Dick Cheney avoided service too. So did famed Trump supporter and connoisseur of underage girls Ted Nugent. The problem I have with it is if you avoided enlisting or being drafted, but trying to act like a tough guy like you obviously aren't, is you had your chance to prove yourself. You don't deserve to be able to act that way, claim you're a war hero, disparage actual veterans, or anything else. If Biden, Clinton or Obama had said even 1/10th of the verbal diarrhea Trump spews, you'd be howling for them to resign.

Wrestling is just not popular anywhere in the world, with a few notable exceptions (Iran). And even where it does have some foothold, it's usually an inward facing participant only sport. It also doesn't help that many events are hosted in countries with low interest, low participation, and poor results.
