I just think it's funny that a guy who pretended to be from the inner city and first gained some measure of success in what was, and still mostly is, a black musical style, basically became his father who he reportedly hated. His dad was none too happy with his son's life choices either, and didn't mince words about the company his son kept during his hip hop days. Then when people who actually knew him pointed out he grew up in the suburbs, he shifted to saying he was from the country, which was at least closer to reality, but not exactly accurate either.
