True. I wrongly took it to mean pre-quarters.

He can’t stand successful people. It eats him up. -
Biabani, the Iranian background Canadian, gets a rare semis appearance for them at 65kg. Bilichuk takes out Naim and Guseinov 9-8 and 14-11 in wild ones while Biabani faces much easier comp the first two rounds. He capitalizes by taking out the most likely exhausted Bilichuk, 5-2, in the quarters. McKenna teched him at Pan-Ams.

1,1,2,2,3,2,1,3. If I googled correctly those are our men’s freestyle finishes at worlds. In the world. If that’s not dominant what is. Folkstyle is a better product. It is a more popular product in the us. More kids prefer doing it over freestyle. American fans as A whole don’t care about freestyle success on the world stage. You won’t like that but it’s a fact Freestyle is fine. They are dominant. They have their own season. They have athletes that only wanted to do that. And in fact did that. im not asking for the moon here. Just leave folkstyle alone and stop trying to make it freestyle.

Why We Suck at Debate (And How to Do It Better)
Tripnsweep replied to jross's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
He was asked if he knew how many mass shooters in this country over the past ten years were transgender. His response? "Too many." The answer was 5, which he was immediately informed. It's not a serious answer and shows his lack of seriousness in debating. It was an answer he gave that was grounded in any kind of facts. It was designed to be a purposefully hyperbolic or theatrical answer rather than a serious one. Then he was asked if he knew how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last ten years. His response? "Counting or not counting gang violence?" It's deflecting from a serious question, and even though he acknowledged the question, but he adds a qualifier that undermines giving a straightforward answer. It's a disingenuous way of answering what should be a relatively simple answer. He isn't seriously engaging, it sounds more like a rhetorical performance to create a sound byte that sounds good. -
His scores were pre-65 KG quarters, as per what he said.

Plenty of us don’t need to. -
Amouzad will beat Biabani. Biabani was a good prospect back in the day, though. He won junior worlds in 2016 but never managed to translate it to the senior level. I think Kiyooka can be the first to go back to back at this weight, though.

Why We Suck at Debate (And How to Do It Better)

This is not really a debate example per se but it cherry picks words without giving context and then criticizes it. It demonstrates a lack of critical thinking and is a symptom of straw manning. Why We Suck at Debate (And How to Do It Better)

Charlie Kirk’s last words were interpreted as a sarcastic response in order to deflect from a serious question. So it kinda of tells you how one side sees things only from their own perspective without honoring what his true intent of the comment was. -
Ok, his scores weren't pre-quarters. They were partway through quarters. Now they're post-quarters. I have the same points as him now.

Iran could lose the semi-finals at 65 and 97 and Japan could win both. They're within striking distance without them. Especially if Iran has a meltdown like they did at U17s (which will NOT happen).

I don't know why I thought about this, maybe because of such a contrast in methodology but I'm curious what everyone thinks would have happened if this has occurred instead of how things played out. Keep in mind this isn't intended to be disrespectful, minimize any tragedy, or anything like that. In January of 1996, John DuPont while hunting on his property guns down a police officer who he believes is plotting against him. The police end up arresting him and he goes to jail for murder. Due to his incarceration and unsure future, Dave Schultz takes a lead role at Foxcatcher as the acting leader of the program. DuPont's estate and lawyers realize DuPont isn't getting out of prison and take steps to slowly phase out the wrestling program. Schultz sees the writing on the wall and with the influence/help of guys like Royce Alger, and the Brands brothers, relocates to Iowa City as the coach of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, partially out of respect for Gable. Schultz loses a thriller to Kenny Monday in the Olympic trials and turns his full attention to coaching. Gable makes Dave a full time assistant coach after the Olympics, and then is able to successfully lobby for Schultz to succeed him as head coach, bypassing Zalesky. Schultz manages to keep everyone around, except Zalesky who leaves to be an assistant coach elsewhere. How would this have changed not just college wrestling, but USA Wrestling and what trajectories would have been different? Would Iowa have been able to maintain their status for a longer period of time? Would Schultz have dramatically changed the Iowa program to be more progressive thinking in regards to changing their tactics? Let's hear it.

There is still a tournament upstairs with some compelling stories. Just saying...

I’m glad you Ike the facts. Thanks for agreeing Mr Snow Plow Driver from Mn!!!!!!! How’s the night shift treating you??? Are you participating in the discussion because it sure looks like it? -
Damn.. add higuchi and Ono and Japan maybe wins a team title
-
They did wrestle at asian champs. Japan was ahead and Sujeet got injured during the match.
-
Nomad and Flo have been doing this for a while now. I trust their pre-quarters numbers. Meaning Iran widened the gap with two victories in the quarters. Guy is a creep-turd, but he doesn't get this wrong.

Yes, I'm doing the same. US 57kg : 8th place = 6 61kg: 5th place = 10 65kg: nothing yet 70kg: 0 74kg: at least 5th = 10 79kg: at least 2nd = 20 86kg: 1st = 25 92kg: at least 2nd = 20 97kg: nothing yet 125kg: 0 TOTAL = 91

Charlie Kirk's last words were a sarcastic response in order to deflect from a serious question. So kind of tells you where he stood on debating anyone seriously. -
Sujeet destroyed Johnny D a couple years ago, IIRC. Is this his only match against USA up until now?
