    thats a good point, there is definitely an overlap between people who are professional casual fans and...being stupid for lack of a better word. Very few people who care about a sport in itself, without any tribal perversion, are going to run around smearing people generating mean spirited hot takes.

    the way some people talk you shouldn't compete if your not automatically on the team. I really respect Zach Sanders because he competed for a long time and never got anywhere internationally, and some dufus on twitter told him he should quit, and his response was just "why?"

    Yeah in fairness to you my opinion of Haines is probably colored by P(su)TSD. Though he does seem like one of these Johny Hendricks types who just squashes scrambles, though guys like Perry were complete amateurs compared to what we have today.

    i don't think the scrambles are gonna be that different. You've got far ankle and Churella (I appreciate askren for calling it this because he was way better at it than ryan churella)which work in freestyle. Ankle passing is very dated, we've got danger calls in folk...I think its the same....maybe different in churella situations because in folk the refs will let you wrestle a little as opposed to blowing the whistle as often as possible?
