    i was on the other side of this argument last week but I still don't think they'll hold him out to dodge a loss. For one thing, where is the good spot in this bracket at NCAAs? Also, even though us as fans don't think this way, the cornell staff is going to try to beat otoole at NCAAs, it helps him to get a feel first.

    Yeah but that actually makes sense. It was helpful for them to do that. Ramirez getting beat by otoole doesn't change the landscape at all. Even if carr wins out, ducking otoole doesn't really help because he's already got a loss to olejnik.

    its like when they held vito out against crookham so they could lose the dual and not overturn a previous loss against the #1 guy.

    its one of the major obstacles between reality and making duals matter. If they did you'd really have to tell conferences to get lost because scheduling would become a universal issue. Also you'd have to get rid of conference tournaments because there is no way to have a tournament deciding the NCAA title, conference, and individual championship, which is how I think you'd have to do it.... come to think of it you'd have teams ducking whole duals not individual matches potentially.

    it took years to get rid of pat downey, and AJ is way better at wrestling than him.

    i would say its just stupid that they release these rankings so early when, based on how they are constructed, the sample size is too low.

    Yeah go ahead and wrestle this year AJ....everyone knows thats possible. Its kinda of wild...ANY program who took him at this point would have its whole narrative swallowed by his. He could go to PSU and he would become the story of their year. No programs wants that.

    I keep looking at it, you just can't find the weights that tOSU could reasonbly turn around to make it a dual. 133? 285? 174? I don't see it. Demilio is tough, maybe gomez throws himself on his back, or Demileo wrestles a really controlled match and waits on gomez to make mistakes?

    i thnik so, feldman hasn't shown what I thought he would so far, from what I've seen him and mullen would be competitive, which they weren't in high school....and Mullen just finished playing football....

    well as a caveat to that, obviously thats all post conference. I'd be curious to see the these pre conference and see if they make more sense.
