    but you know me..... i just don't like it that someone made a fairly interesting point and you tried to trump them with a fact he was obviously already aware of...which is completely uninteresting.

    yeah thats a great point, and its why duals (actually duels) have to matter. you can't cradle your studs if you need them every week. The NCAA should basically do a college football thing and three weeks later do the individual and not score it. Does anyone really think those guys wouldn't wrestle as hard at the individual tournament if there wasn't a team race?

    The expression "getting matches" is very much a high school thing IMHO, especially now that everyone is on their high horses preaching about how you should compete till your 17. Once they get to college there aren't a lot of guys whose trajectory is gonna change based on mat time.

    there is another explanation as well. we tend to think of these kids as being tough all the time, but its possible thats just what he looks like when he's having a bad practice and the coaches know it. I'm not claiming that, just floating it as possible.

    yeah that looks bad. i don't think there was a very obvious stopping point in the match....but thats about all you can say for the staff....

    i love that interview when he's talking about that situation and goes, "how did no one get fired?"

    it cause the season is too long. coaches are pulling back, and the result is weekends like last weekend where we are a month into th season and there just isn't a lot going on....

    thats fine, but go back and look at how this started, i pointed out a grammatical nuance for fun and in reference to previous discussion. i wasn't judging the "dual" people.

    so you think the marketing of professional sports teams should have abritary authority over grammar as an academic subject? I don't deny your argument but it sounds like a confusion of what level we are arguing at.

    no its not...to the orginal point, duel is a noun, dual is an adjective. Semantic is an adjective, semantics is a noun.
