For me when David Carr, Myles Martin, and Spencer Lee got knocked off at NCAAs that was msore exciting. This year if the 125 number 1 seed loses in the first round ill shrugg it off.

125 this year has a lot of chaos and the rankings are a mess due to there being no clear front runner like in years past. As a fan do you prefer there being a sense of randomness where literally anyone can come out of nowhere to win the whole thing? Or do you prefer there being a clear front runner whom everyone is trying to take out? Personally I prefer having a top guy that everyone is trying to take out vs this year where the top ranked guy was a revolving door. If/when there is an upset is creates shockwaves through the fanbase, where as this year when the new number 1 ranked guy lost it wasnt a big deal.

100% correct. Dake and Taylor were 2 of the faces of NCAA Wrestling. They were the poster children of the sport. OToole and Starrocci not so much. I dont think we will ever see a more hyped match collegiate matchup than Dake v Taylor.

Do you have spreadsheets to support this "math"? In my experience, it is more difficult to get 2 takedowns in 1 minute than it is to get an escape and a takedown. The other variables you mentioned like stallings and mistakes can all happen in both scenarios.

But he clearly DIDNT make the right call because Zargo ended up losing. I honestly think Bono was too busy screaming and fighting with the ref he lost his focus and made the wrong call, you think he made the right one and Zargo almost ended up getting majored because of it.

Thats fair too, but the score was still legitimately 2-1 in Davis' favor, so Deaugustino was still trailing and likely would have gone for a desparation takedown. Imo Davis is not a lock to AA. I dont think him being ranked as high as 2nd was never really valid, but then again i dont think anyone being ranked highly other than Ramos really held much weight. The Killkari finish was botched by the ref, but we wont see him this post season. I would not be surprised to see Davis go 2-2 at NCAAs, but I would be equally not surprised to see him in the finals, or anyone else for that matter. The one thing I see in Davis' favor is hes far from a finished product, where as with guys like Barnett, Deaugustino and McKee pretty much are...

Its a moot point now since he lost, but i whole heartly disagree with the strategy of getting 2 takedowns being easier than 1 escape and a td in that specific scenario. Basically what youre saying is in your opinion Boni gave the right coaching strategy.

Exactly. I was saying he should have taken bottom.. getting the escape.. making it 4-1.. then go for the takedown to make it 4-4. Instead he went neutral.. at 4-0.. Aka bad coaching on Bono's part!

Score was 4-0 at the time. Going neutral and getting a takedown would still put him behind by 1. Zargo wasn't scoring 2 takedown with about a min to go.

Poor coaching from Bono. Zargo has choice due to the injury time. Should have Zargo take down to give him a chance at an escape then takedown to tie things up. Instead he was too busy screaming at the ref.

Furthermore, you post saying Iowa should clean out of its assistants as if theyre the problem.. then you say their next head coach should be cut of a different cloth, yet you dont think Brands should be replaced? You say "if there was a slam dunk replacement" you would be all for it. If thats the case then you dont want a replacement. You want to simply continue with what youve got. Changing the assistants will have a minor effect on the program. You say I have nothing of value to contribute yet you said i made good points. You are just full of contradictions. You brushed off my comments on the vibe given off from Metcalf as if its a nothing burger when its actually isnt. Keep your head in the sand. Youre the one that doesnt want the program to change. Youre the one that wants to keep doing the same thing over and over again while expecting results to change.

Because individual championships do matter more. Every top level wrestler's goal is to be an NCAA champion. Wrestling is an INDIVIDUAL sport with a team component, not the other way around. Also i dont HATE Iowa, I get annoyed by certain segments of its fan base. I disagree adamantly with the way the culture in the program is run. Finally i dont "get my rocks off" at pissing off Iowa fans. I statement opinion. Back it up with factual occurances and stand my ground and dont back down.

I hope we never.... eeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeerrrrrrrrr see that move happen... a-gain.

Because unlike Tom Brands some people put these guys "UP ON A PEDESTAL" and need to rationalise that maybe theese guys are simply human.
