  1. Either that or MAC you'd have to assume.
  2. No. Never.
  3. Not sure. But seems like the coach they have is doing a pretty good job. They finished 4th at D2s and had a Natty Champ.
  4. Cannot confirm or deny. I just remember Hill qualifying that year.
  5. Butler was down at 141 in 2022, then was the backup to Hill at 157 in 2023. AHR transferred out following the 2023 season. Not sure how much Butler would have played into that.
  6. Not too mention he beat out a top 10 recruit (Herrera-Rendon) and actually made him transfer out.
  7. You sure? Mauller and Brady were both bad this year.
  8. Yes, their commons are similar. But, do you see Wilcox beating Chittum or Lee (Askey's best wins)? I do not. On the other hand, do you see Askey beating Brady or Mauller (Wilcox's best wins)? I do. There's reason Askey was R12 and Wilcox R24.
  9. Askey is better than Hepner and Wilcox. Not just by NCAA tourney results, but also by regular season results. Askey: 25-7 (R12). Wins over Revano (21 seed), Chittum (14 seed), L. Lamer (29 seed), and B. Lee (11 seed). Wilcox: 22-12 (R24). Wins over Brady (18 seed @ #165), Mauller (17 seed) and Stampoulos (33 seed) Hepner: 13-7 (DNQ). Win over C. Moore (28 seed @ #165) Gallagher has better results than I thought. But still comparative resume to Askey because of Askey's R12 finish. Gallagher: 16-5 (DNQ). Wins over Chumbley (25 seed), Kellar (AA - 6th), Downey (5 seed). Hard to look at these resumes and say Askey wouldn't be able to take 1 out of 2 spots.
  10. I doubt Brewer would have left if he had any inclination that Frayer was planning too leave, because then Brewer could have slid into AHC role at VT (instead of the same role at Princeton).
  11. On the surface it means they 'care' about the olympic sports, at least enough to be aggressive about making sure they have scholarships.
  12. I think we're all holding our breath on this aspect of it.
  13. https://www.mercyhurst.edu/news/mercyhurst-university-marks-new-era-athletics-move-division-I LFG!!!
  14. Hadn't heard that but great for them.
  15. Tony Purler. Okie State to Nebraska.
  16. Sorry, actually only two outplaced their PSU counterpart. Bubba & Suriano. I thought Beard had outplaced Dean in 2023, but he did not.
  17. Only three of these guys were AA's...and only two of them finished higher than the Penn State athlete at their weight.
  18. Last I heard he was helping out with OH RTC.
  19. Camden Eppert was the previous Associate HC. Not sure where he went though. I didn't even hear about the opening. I'd imagine they'd promote Mike DePalma who is currently listed as the "Head Assistant Coach".
  20. I like this list a lot. All have MAC ties aside from Scott Green, who has NY ties. I like that.
  21. This is not a thread about whether or not Stutzman did a good job or not/if he should have been let go or not. This is strictly about who they will get to replace him. I feel like I have a good amount of college wrestling knowledge, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a list of qualified candidates who would be interested. Nick Gwiazdowski (NY resident) Donnie Vinson (NY resident)
  22. 1. What does the last 15 years have to do with it being a Cyclone state RIGHT NOW? 2. Some would say they have already passed Iowa based on how the two teams finished at the national tournament. 3. As far as losing to them in a dual this year goes, does our sport have a dual championship? Until we do, the individual national tournament is what matters and I'm pretty sure EVERY college coach in America would agree.
  23. I think you'd have a hard time convincing any non-Hawkeye fan that it's not even worth having a debate over.
