lol, they didn't con me into anything. The fact you think Elon is trying to make your wallet fatter is hilarious. "but he is saving me money". In order for you to actually "save money," presumably on your taxes, Elon and his crew are going to have to drastically cut Medicare, Defense, and Social Security budgets. Doubt that's saving you anything.

Biden was a feeble old man moron. Don't care either way about the other 2. Elon does things for himself, not for the greater good, and that'll be clear. I'm sure you'll claim it's fake news when he's the first trillionaire, and that it had nothing to do with what's going on. "but but but.... he cut transgender studies by $25B...... he tweeted about it..."

Caleb Henson is spanking every single one of them.

I'd be happy if this somehow turns things around for the better. I don't think it will. They want control, they want their pocketbooks lined, they want to do whatever they want without checks and balances. I don't think either of them wants what's best for the American people. Maybe Trump does, but I don't think he has a clue what actually is going to work and is relying on people like Elon to tell him what to do.

God damn quoting is difficult with all these damn ads on this site. I'll vote on removing them. Idk how I feel about the dept of education. Sounds like a similar stupid move like defund the police while expecting policing to get better. How is cutting an f ton of money from education going to make our nation better?

Boom... Another $700m back to the American people! Elon the American hero. Enjoy your $2 in your bank, meanwhile the CFPB has returned $20billion in fraudulent fees and stolen money to American consumers with it's services. Now it's shuttered because Elon wants to run his Twitter pay service and charge fees without being bothered. How's that math for ya? This stuff really hits hard if you're a moron, unfortunately most of the public eats it up.

Those single line items don't really say anything. Like Scouts Honor said, this is all peanuts compared to our spending deficit and makes literally no difference. Unless it reduces our taxes then who gives an f. Also, nobody knows what overseeing a mail center entails, it could be nationwide funding for preventing anthrax through the mail for all we know. Try explaining $1.5M in spending funds in a single excel cell and those are the descriptions you get. Nevertheless, I don't care if it's cut, it's not a dunk or even a point against anything I've been saying.

I think cutting the budget is crucial. The only problem is we have a maniacal narcissist who is shutting down agencies due to conflicts of interest and trying to justify it with measly unimportant spending that some disagree with, and labeling it "criminal" or "fraud". Elon wants to be the richest man to ever live and have ultimate power, and he's got the keys to the government to get him there. You all are just cool with it. If Trump's not pandering to Musk, then why didn't we hear about his EO for canceling all aid to South Africa due to them wanting to preserve land for South African whites? Surely it was important to him if he has to sign an executive order within 18 days of inauguration. Oh wait....

If you think Elon has any goal other than pushing his own agenda, you're delusional. USAID was investigating the contracts and millions of dollars Elon's Starlink internet they purchased for humanitarian efforts in Ukraone and his narcissistic self got pissed. Poof, byebye USAID. Twitter inks a deal with Visa to start a pay service via Twitter, CFPB goes to look into it, poof, byebye to the organization which has returned billions of fraudulant activities to all sorts of Americans. This organization, which has a very low budget, was implemented after the financial crash in 2008 and is solely there to make sure users don't get scammed and screwed over by bbig banks with fraud, excessive fees, etc. Yet here we are, Elon doesn't want to be held accountable, so we're all screwed. Good luck getting your money back if your bank screws you over. You're delusional and so is anyone who's buying that what Elon is doing is good for America. It's good for Elon, and that'll continue until Elon blatantly steps on Trump's foot and they have a falling out.

STOP, lmao calm down dude. Point is this is unprecedented and neither you nor I know what his position allows him to do. You don't know that he can't fire somebody. Sure his companies have done well, partly due to overinflated valuations due to his political leanings, but when Musk and DOGE recommend firing personnel, cutting budgets, or whatever else they're doing, it immediately happens, whether it's Musk personally signing the termination letter or somebody else.

How's this for checks and balances? He is the one policing himself. Worst that can happen? His move fast and break things approach to silicon valley companies while at the US government could be really bad. I'm all for cleaning up the inefficiencies, but wtf does Musk know about humanitarian aid, disease prevention, healthcare, education, social services, economic policy, diplomancy, national security / defense, the FAA, etc? Get some people that know what the hell they're doing - he's not qualified. He can disrupt millions of jobs for Americans by cutting heads with no knowledge of what he's doing. He can cripple American institutions that are doing important research for disease prevention, etc. The list goes on and on to be honest. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, but he can really mess stuff up if he isn't kept in check. When asked about Musk’s potential conflict of interests last week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Musk would excuse himself if any conflicts appeared during his DOGE work. “If Elon Musk comes across a conflict of interest with the contracts and the funding that DOGE is overseeing, then Elon will excuse himself from those contracts. And he has, again, abided by all applicable laws,” Leavitt said during a press briefing.
