Hey sorry for the delay - just checked the forums today.

Yeah, it's a bad ranking...it happens from time to time. Most times we catch it before it gets to this point but Block slipped through the cracks. You'll remember last year I had to answer for dropping Maida 18 spots and this year I have to answer for not dropping Block. It'll be fixed on Monday...unless he beats Bartlett tonight of course 🙂

    you're the man, Kozak.

it does happen. to all of us from time to time.

  2. cool topic. i'll take some liberties here...

125: Travis Lee - 4x EIWA Champ, 2x NCAA Champ, ended with most wins in Ivy History and first ever Ivy 4x AA

beats out TNick 1x Champ, 3x EIWA Champ, 4x AA

133: Vito Arujau - 4-3-1-1 and his last two were thrilling.

beats out Nahshon who was 3-2-5-1

    141: Yianni D - 4x won his first two at 141

149: Kyle Dake - 4xer. His title at 149 came over Molinari in the finals, who would be the champ the next year.

157: Jordan Leen - 2008 NCAA Champ beat fellow Champ Gregor Gillespie in quarters

    Meyer Shapiro pending.

165: Mack Lewnes - 3x AA. Finalist. 4x EIWA Champ

174: Brian Realbuto - 3x AA. NCAA Runner Up* at 157. Was 5th as SR at 174.

Beats out Chris Foca, who was 3rd as a SO and has one more shot.

184: Gabe Dean - 4x AA, 2x Champ, win over Ed Ruth

beats out Steve Bozak - 3x AA, 1x Champ over Quentin Wright

    197 - Cam Simaz - 4x AA, 1x Champ, 4x EIWA Champ

285 - Never Had an AA. I guess i'd go with Lewis Fernandes.

And over 95% come through legal ports of entry. So even if you somehow managed to stop people from crossing illegally, you would barely put a dent in drugs trafficking. Whether that's by air or land. Also most people involved in smuggling are American.

So if you managed to entirely close off the border, the economic harm from doing that would dwarf solving this problem.

do you have a reference for that (95%) statistic?

  4. i can't for the life of me understand any of you on this topic.

a more secure border would undoubtedly suppress the amount of drugs smuggled and even the attempts to do so.

why is this disputed? we've had four + years of a nonexistent border and the foreknowledge that it was going to be.

y'all are sitting there and really saying that a more robust border agency/infrastructure/prosecution wouldn't help?

  5. the bottom line is, something has to be done to protect our borders from

    1) illegals with a criminal past

    2) drug smuggling

    3) human trafficking

i honestly don't care how it's done. whether that's attacking the cartels themselves or not. putting pressure on the MEX govt or not.

we cannot just throw up our hands and say there's no solution. people in the US have suffered from it under the Biden admin.

saying 'there's not much we can do about it' is demonstrably untrue and a loser's mentality.

But the transfer portal and NIL deals chipping away at their model, like we see in basketball (Okpara, Mack, Wolf, etc.).

And transfers have a disproportionate effect on Ivy league schools because so few are admitted and fewer students are allowed to transfer-in.

no idea what you're talking about. what Ivy league wrestlers have left for NIL deals? Wrestling is not basketball.

The individual NIL sponsorships Ivy League schools allow are minuscule compared to what the collectives have to offer.

what wrestling programs are offering significant NIL? there's like 8 programs that can/do.
