  1. Normally it is two hour weigh-ins these days, but for whatever reason they're doing weigh-ins at the Olympic Village rather than at the venue, so to allow for transport it is a 4 hour weigh-in for this tourney.
  2. To add insult to injury, some of the track events now have a repechage (no joke), where if you don't make it out of the prelim round you have a second chance to make it to the semis. Compared to wrestling where there's still the potential to go 0-1, there are now some track events where a runner is guaranteed to race in at least two rounds.
  3. Agreed. Lopez may be "unbeatable" in some minds, but I doubt he scares his opponents the way Karelin did. Karelin's reverse lift was ruthless.
  4. Am I the only one not seeing a replay of today's semifinal session? I was able to watch replays of all of yesterday's sessions, as well as today's prelim and medal sessions, but not the semis. EDIT: Never mind - it looks like Peacock combined it into the replay of today's medal matches. Super intuitive...
  5. I'm considering paying the $7.99 for a one month subscription to Peacock, but because of my work schedule I'd like the ability to replay matches because I won't be able to see most of them live. Can someone please confirm if Peacock let's you watch replays on demand? If not, it probably won't be worth it for me.
  6. Well said - great article - we need more people talking about this!
  7. Also stay away from pickup basketball games. I think I remember him getting injured in a pickup game at the OTC.
  8. Based on the latest roster (https://www.themat.com/news/2023/october/26/mota-pettis-golston-garrett-added-to-u-s-roster-for-pan-american-games) we are sending a rep to the Pan American Games at every Olympic weight in all three disciplines, except for 67 kg Greco. Do we really not have someone on the ladder we can send there?
  9. I was wondering the same thing. If he was going to cut back down why not just go 74 kg since it's the Olympic weight?
  10. I'm in favor of this, and I'd add that the minimum number of matches can't be against teammates. I'd also like to see medical forfeits count as losses and "ducks" - whether real or perceived - to be taken into consideration for seeding. i.e. if all other criteria is equal, wrestler A can't be seeded ahead of wrestler B just based on a previous year's result if wrestler A didn't wrestle in the dual.
