1. 125 - Iowa Pin
133 - UofM Dec
141 - Iowa Dec
149 - Iowa Dec
157 - UofM Dec
165 - UofM Dec
174 - Iowa Dec
184 - UofM Dec
197 - UofM Dec
285 - UofM Dec
133 - If not Teske, Ragusin could bonus at 133.
141 and 149 could be Majors if it is Nolan and Mayora, respectively.
I believe Walker has a better chance against Brands than Maylor at 174.  Brands has a significant GRIT level on Maylor and that gap could push to a Major.
Woodley could Major if it isn't Warner at 197 for Iowa.
Parris could pin.
UofM over Iowa 18-15.

Woodley??? What did I miss

2. how's the siebrecht - brayton bout go?
i couldn't watch and replay isn't up yet. Brayton really struggling

Siebrecht went double unders and put Brayton to his back almost instantly, rode him for the whole period, and then it was a whole bunch of nothing from there. Brayton got in on some deep shots late but never really threatened.

3. Nice to see Minnesota keep it close in terms of team score, and definitely wrestled tough in the matches we lost, but if Salazar is hurt then it was all a net negative imo. He’s one of few that I think can score points in March but that leg looked bad late in that match.

4. Exactly what I was thinking about Mizzou, familiarity. O’Toole, Spray, Mocco, Pfleger, Whitling and Aeoden Sinclair all are already at Mizzou or on the way. Maybe even a couple I missed. Adding Mitch would only help in the chase for our first Natty Championship.

Yeah, well, I think our U of M is cooler.

5. Millard and Riddle are around 15-20 at their weight class nationally. Messenbrink was the #1 ranked guy at 152 in a weight class that included Cody Chittum, Caleb Henson, Hunter Garvin, Meyer Shapiro, Daniel Cardenas, etc... Not quite the same level recruits. You do whatever you can to get Messenbrink IMO.

Yeah I wasn’t necessarily bringing them up to say they are reasons to not bring Mesenbrink in, more so to say that he would already have two guys around him that he already knows well.

Riddle is likely a depth guy, long shot to be a factor in the lineup. Millard though I think can be a good starter.

6. Minnesota maybe. They have a committ, Charle Millard, an AWA kid around the same weight. I’m sure if they got Mitch they would figure it out lineup wise.

Ethan Riddle is a 174 from AWA coming in as well. I’d imagine that Millard 157, Mesenbrink 165, Riddle 174 would work just fine.

7. Nagao, O’Reilly and Salazar are ranked higher than Teske, Brands and Assad respectively so not see how they would be major upsets…

I worded it weird. What I meant was, outside of Brayton, Nagao, O’Reilly or Salazar, everything else would be a major upset.

8. poorwrestler Uff da, you are certainly not in an optimistic mood.
Not sharing my results list, but I've got what I think is a realistic 5-5 match count... with bonus points deciding the dual.
It'll be extremely tough, but MN can get this at home.

I think there’s a path to victory for Brayton Lee, and wouldn’t be shocked if he did it, but any other wins than that, O’Reilly, Nagao and Salazar would be significant upsets. I’m not seeing it… but would love it.

9. Iowa is a really bad matchup for Minnesota on paper. Especially with the way Brayton Lee is wrestling, and Iowa having the only 125 that I am confident McKee cannot beat (obviously).

125 Lee pins McKee 0-6

133 Nagao dec Teske 3-6

141 Woods dec Bergeland 3-9

149 Murin dec Blockhus 3-12

157 Siebrecht dec Lee 3-15

165 Kennedy dec Carlson 3-18

174 O’Reilly dec Brands 6-18

184 Salazar dec Assad 9-18

197 Warner dec Foy 9-21

HWT Cass maj Joles 9-25

Would love to see the gophers win at 157 but I ain’t banking on it. My unpopular pick is Salazar over Assad, but I think the other two wins are reasonable.

Hope we can keep it close at 141, 149, 165 and 197.

10. This debate is as tired as it can get, but just switch to freestyle. Don’t waste time trying new rules in folkstyle. Make the switch to what the rest of the world does.

11. poorwrestler, for next season, what do you think about something like this:
125: Spratley
133: McKee
141: Nagao
149: Jamison
157: Lee
165: Sparks
174: Krattinger / Lyden
184: Salazar
197: Joles / Nelson
285: Tabor

I wouldn’t mind this lineup at all, and I think it’s possibly our best dual lineup, but Vance Vombaur will likely be a factor at 141 or 149 (he started a couple times this year, and one was a convincing win over Clay Carlson of SDSU).

I also think McKee will try his damndest to stay at 125 and capitalize on a weight class finally vacated by Spencer Lee, and Nagao is too small for 141 as of now.

I think Spratley rides the bench one more year. Drew Roberts could factor in at 149 as well.

Need a transfer at 174, badly.

12. Gophers have three legit shots at AA right now, and Brayton Lee and Jake Bergeland aren’t any of them. It’s McKee, Nagao, and Salazar. Minnesota is a team made up of a bunch of guys that could place anywhere from 7th to going 2-2. Solid wrestlers, solid dual team, but no contenders.

Some of our young guys and recruits coming in give me hope for the future though.
