  1. Rumor on the tech board is Taylor is gonna try and flip Burton to Ok State. Hopefully not true but the kid is a stud and his stock is rising

First Routledge from Nebraska, then Robideau from Minnesota, now Burton? This man must be stopped!

  2. Trying to learn as much as possible about this kid.  Would you guys say he's on the same level of Jax Forrest, D Lockett, Mirasola, Ryder, etc ???  Just wondering why I haven't heard much about him until recently.

Really good, not on that level. Not quite a world team level kid but consistently top 3-4 at all the big tournaments.

  3. Win 3 titles at Penn State and you get 15% off Ice cream at Penn State creamery
Win 3 titles at Iowa and you get free toppings on Caseys crummy Pizza
Win 1 title at Rutgers and you are splashed on Times Square in NYC and all over Billboards on Americas busiest Highways

    Casey’s pizza rules

  4. A ) Adams hasn't been active in Folkstyle or MFS, so it's hard to gauge where he will sit.  It could be 149, it could be 141. Edit: 67 KG is ~147.7lbs FWIW
B ) I said 'in two years' in my post.

    A) Do you anticipate Adam’s even joining the team or perhaps going the full time Greco route?

    B) oh, sorry I blew up

  5. I won't see 149lbs, I don't think.  I think he is already bigger than that, meaning 157lbs.  Throw him in the weight room and let him run out at 174lbs after next season.  I really think the Mantanonas should be 165/174 for them AFTer next season.  That will give Michigan their best lineup possible, with the other gents sliding in to 149/157 accordingly.
I like Gilcher for 157 and I think some (a lot) of his problems when he started the year last year weren't just him being young, but him cutting too much weight as a true frosh.  149 is just a shit weight for anyone with Olympic aspirations that isn't truly elite already.
In my perfect world this is what they are rolling out in two seasons:
    125 - Botero (true frosh)
    133 - Horwath/Walker
    141 - Lemley
    149 - Gates/Catrabone (Cooper redshirt)
    157 - Gilcher
    165 - Mantanona
    174 - Mantanona
    184 - Veazy (true frosh)
    197 - Walters (Correa redshirt)
    285 - Jenkins (Sahakian redshirt)
That is a very young lineup that has potential to be better if Sahakian beats out Jenkins from the get-go.  The Mantanona's have long frames, too, so they could grow even more.
Also interesting note:  Troy Mantanona still has a year of eligibility left were he to choose to use it.

    Dude, where is Joel Adams?

Also doesn’t Sahakian have another year of high school or am I crazy?

  6. I’m curious to see how Minnesota handles Brenner, Sparks, Whiting, McEnelly, Salazar, Nelson and Nagel at 165-197. Nice mix of high ranked young recruits and longer tenured guys there.

  7. I would be good with Kennedy transferring to SDSU.

I’ve said all along I feel like Pat Kennedy would rather chew his own arm off than wrestle for anyone other than Iowa, even if he’s riding the bench.

HOWEVER, if he were to transfer there’s no way it’s not to SDSU imo

  8. No they aren't, it doesn't generate for the University but for the Athletic Department and they spend all the money.

Are you arguing that an athletic department is not a part of the university? Of course the money gets spent.

  9. Did Sax have a huge growth spurt?  Wasn’t he at 149 last year?

Yes and yes. If he could’ve made 165 last year at NDSU I believe he would have.

  10. Oklahoma
    125 - Jordan
    133 - Schwartz
    141 - Belton
    149 - McDougald
    157 - Carlson
    165 - Sax
    174 - Picklo
    184 - Parker
    197 - Buchanan
    285 - Mora
That is a solid lineup, gents.

If Carlson and Sax can make those weights I’ll eat my left shoe

  11. Either it is between those three or the original favorite, Mizzou, still has it in the bag.
I hope Michigan, but I think he can't go wrong with Michigan or OSU.  OSU has a staff that was intricately involved with Kerk for the last many years.  Michigan has the guy who beat Kerk last in collegiate folkstyle (and he did so three times that season).

You’ve been adamant that you believe Minnesota has no chance. With our track record at HWT, I’m surprised by that opinion tbh. He’d have good partners, coaching, and NIL here.

I don’t think they’re the favorite, but one of his three visits for a reason.
