  1. I was hoping for this too.  Askren said that AWA will be opening an RTC soon though, so that may be a more likely club for PK.

Rodent, I’m going to have to ask you to stop poo-pooing on my happy thoughts. Thank you.

  2. I thought Fishback was from Illinois, and moved to Ohio for high school?  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I’m going to open a can of worms and ask. At what point in a child’s life do they have to move somewhere to be considered “from” there?

  3. DeLuca-Rainey-Rainey-Bassett is annoyingly strong. Hate it.

But also, I’d rather they recruit well so they don’t have to continue stealing guys that other teams have already invested in. So I’ll see the bright side I guess.

  4. I hope PK gets addes to the staff rather than follow, personally.

I know this is from a few days ago, but I think there’s a significant chance Keck ends up with the gopher RTC. I think location is a big factor as he wants to be close to home while also driving distance to AWA camps that he will help at, and I think practice partners will be a big factor. McEnelly, Nelson, Hilger, Zillmer, Kemerer, Owen Webster etc. as well as some AWA guys around his weight he’s already close with like Millard, Riddle and Whiting.

Crossing my fingers. Would be a loaded room at 174+.

  5. I'd bet his defense improved but he has little offense.  He could AA but if a better option pops up in the portal ...

There are 2 returning AA’s and only 19 of 33 returning qualifiers at heavyweight next year. There might not be better than him in the portal.

  6. I think it's his more natural weight and he went up to 197 because of Carter. Without a returning starter at 184, he might want to go to the weight he's best at. I agree with the consensus that it wouldn't be what's best for the lineup, but if we're to believe Cael, he lets the guys sort it out themselves.

He’s a returning finalist and the highest placing returning guy. If he had made the blood round, or even placed like, 5th, sure. But especially if Ferrari were to move up to HWT, I expect Barr to be dominant at 197. He might be dominant even if Ferrari doesn’t bump.

  7. The ultimate 'win' for me is Max (Ben) Askren takes the HC job at Wiscy, the Mirasola's transfer there - as well as a couple other AWA gents.

Providing, of course, that Focus heads to Penn State for HWT.

    Well I think that’s a terrible idea!

  8. Maybe he wanted to wrestle in the Purdue dual?

The fact that Ethen is transferring and Kal tweeted out that he is not, leads me to believe it’s some kind of grad school thing. Maryland doesn’t have a degree program in his field or something like that. I bet that happens more often than we realize.

  9. They're pretty big for '84 at this point. Probably both '97, but if they want to Wrestle together, they almost certainly need to leave. Though...you would think Connor has closed the gap on Barr. There's a bigger learning curve for a True Freshmen vs a RS Freshmen.
It almost certainly won't happen, but that'd be pretty cool, huh? One Freshmen knocks a returning runner up out of the lineup? And then Barr has to go 184 and the two rivals have to Wrestle off for the spot?

I don’t see either Mirasola closing the gap on Barr ever.

  10. Flynn -> Volk is a lateral jump.  They have wrestled before.  I suggest you go watch that match before you try exclaiming that Volk is the answer.

Regardless of the two in relation to each other, the gophers straight up just need talent in the room at 125/133. The current roster below 141 is very underwhelming in terms of results. Bringing in a guy like Volk should be a no brainer, let the best man win if they both want 125. Assuming he wants to be here.
