  1. Paraguay's HWT looked like he'd never seen a wrestling match before. Looked confused then pinned in 12 seconds.
  2. Someone from USA won 11-0 on other mat but I can't figure out how to switch.
  3. Adrian Samano (Puerto Rico) by way of Ferrum College up now. Venezuela up 1-0 on clock point at break. Clock on Ven 1-1, Clock on Puerto Rico 2-1. First takedown attempt of entire match and Puerto Rico scores with 15 seconds left 3-2 Samano and he celebrates like he just won Olympic gold.
  4. Farmer with a push out Domician with a TD. Farmer with a TD and 2 laces. Farmer TD at buzzer Farmer 9-2 at the break Farmer point for something, it's in Spanish and I don't speak it. Farmer exposure wins 12-2 tech.
  5. https://www.panamsportschannel.org/player?id=650db5e0e4b0892675128b3b&type=live Free to watch. Register with a fake email and one is good to go. Charlie Farmer up now
  6. If he starts this season, there's some talent at 133/141 but we also have to watch where Forrest ends up weight wise. Both Blaze and Forrest almost have to bulk to 141/149 so they are not too undersized for 65 in '28. There really could be a case where one or both are World Champs and one is an Olympic Champ while still in college and one never wins an NCAA title.
  7. It's going to take some time before OKST gets back into freestyle as RBY and Valencia haven't been with the Cowboy club long enough to really build a fanbase, Sakamoto lost his only varsity match and Khayitov isn't much of a prospect, failing to win NJCAA last year. Most people still think of Air Force when they think Hendrickson Raney and Forrest should have them excited but it might take a few more cycles of having contending recruits for fans to go out of their way to pay attention.
  8. And again, could have easily been SIX if Lilledahl opted to try U20.
  9. Again, not mine but SlipperyPete's work. U20 86kg Final- Max McEnelly vs. Bozigit Islamgereev (UWW) Period 1: Tying up & hand fighting. Islamgereev pushes forward a bit. Max McEnelly DEC Bozigit Islamgereev 8-0
  10. McNelly wins title 8-0
  11. McEnelly up 2-0 at the break. Clock and pushout.
  12. Quite a few schools* were represented at this championship by kids representing other countries. It's really great to see "US" kids get a shot. Ayoub probably isn't in the top 5 of the US age group ladder but got his chance and took advantage with a medal. *not Iowa though.
  13. SlipperyPete's pbp Period 1: It appears the wrasslin' season has returned to action! I missed the first couple days of this tournament, but here's Blaze's match. Here we go! 14. Blaze with the tech and wins gold
  15. SlipperyPete is doing pbp on the Penn State board if anyone's interested. Blaze up 5-0 at the break.
  16. And USA's largest favorite in returning champ Lilledahl opted not to wrestle U20 even though eligible.
  17. A 19year old Junior would not be eligible to compete their senior year in almost every state.
  18. By far the biggest NIL beneficiary has been a female gymnast. The second largest was a female basketball player.
  19. Or make stalling points 2, 2, 4, DQ. I hate the idea of officials deciding matches but stalling is a problem on top and in neutral. I think they also call it too often on bottom. I'd also like to see the ankle pass with the same 5 count as dropping to an ankle. I'm against a push out rule but could be talked into a step out rule where a wrestler who voluntarily steps out is hit with stalling.
  20. Bassett loses to Stanich - What can you expect, he's a HS Junior wrestling someone who has been in a college room for years. Bassett decommits from Iowa - He's almost ready for an AARP card.
  21. They should have had a bunch of titles stripped. Even today, ask schools like Arizona State how ethical Iowa is.
  22. The most ethical program that was founded by flat out cheating. Their entire history is based on documented and verified disregard for NCAA rules.
  23. Telling off a recruit's mother is never the right thing. Iowa fans are spinning the best case scenario but there's a lot going on. Bassett and company were part of a large contingent to train at HWC before Vegas. They were treated like red-headed stepchildren. You'd think you'd roll out the red carpet when you can legally talk to kids like Mario Hutcherson. One doesn't have to corner a wrestler to provide support, encouragement or even cheer from the sidelines and a kind word after a loss goes a long way.
  24. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that he's calling out the lifestyles of two of the potential three African-Americans on the roster. How many times has he been sued for racial discrimination in his rentals?
