  1. Yoel was superhuman, lol
  2. That would be a long term thing, if it even happens at all. Many of these countries have 0 history in wrestling and won't even send a guy unless they can medal. Albania sent 3 guys to worlds, all Russian. I'm skeptical you can force them into developing a indigenous wrestling program. Most likely they just don't send anyone. There's just no way you can claim worlds will be more entertaining if there were less good wrestlers in the brackets, lol. And that is exactly what is going to happen if/when the transfer rules tighten. If you think it's BS that countries are buying their way to medals off of foreign guys they had no part in developing then that's fine, but from an entertainment/excitement standpoint there's just no argument. The product at worlds will be worse.
  3. I think Khabib said they are trying to get Azarpira, or the Iranian as he called him. I'll guess Azarpira doesn't participate.
  4. Why do you think it would make the competition more exciting?
  5. They had a trial for the 125 spot at u23 worlds today. Lotfi lost to Mohamadnejad ( this year's junior world silver) 4- 0.
  6. Where did you get the Japan team from
  7. Thank you for the updates
  8. He should come to Iran and have a domestic rivalry with Amouzad
  9. I don't see why he is trying to transfer. He is young and probably better than the guy they sent this year. If I am correct he did not take part in their trials due to an injury. I'm guessing he would be the favourite to win the spot for Russia at 65 next year. Maybe he just hates having to make a team or has a beef with the Russian federation because they made him miss the Olympics?
  10. Hossein Rangraz and Farshad Alizadeh are his coaches. They are Iranian and were on the GR team in the 2000s.
  11. Zahid. Nobody on the planet is on his level right now.
  12. They often miss U23 Asians for whatever reason. I know Shakeri will go at 74 as he won a trial. He was the junior world champion at 65kg in 2023. Not sure about the rest of the team. I will guess Rahmani at 86.
  13. He got 4'd in parterre in the first period and nothing else happened in the match
  14. 194 points is so crazy. If I remember right their champs were Uguev, Rashidov , Baev, Sidakov and Sadulaev that year.
  15. I think the guy at 125, but I don't follow GR closely
  16. How many people have been relevent at 65 for 6 years? I can't remember anyone recently and there has been some great wrestlers at this weight. That's what it would take, he won aged 20 in 2022. Yes, 0 chance. I'm 100% sure he wont be a gold winner in 2028. He cant replicate his success at 74
  17. Rahman has no chance of winning Olympic gold. His time was 2024 if he was going to do it.
  18. They generally have a down year after the Olympics. 2013 Iran won the team title. 2017 USA won the team title and Russia won 0 golds. 2022 they were banned so no data. 2025 Iran wins the team title.
  19. Probably the last one to match him is Ramanov, who went gold 2014 - bronze 2015 - gold 2016 and then got injured and disappeared.
  20. This is his twin losing to Yazdani. Of course, his twin is a far inferior wrestler. They seem to be about the same height.
  21. No. The last exchange was never going to be a step out I feel like he gasses more now. If he had that same match from 2022 with Yianni today it may tire him out
  22. Yes, though Mamedov has his number so far. He didn't seem particularly on this tournament compared to the Olympics, but beat Kiyooka easily. I wonder what happens if they wrestle 10 times. Seems both guys went into a huge hole in 1 exchange in both matches and then it got out of hand. I also wonder how long Amouzad can even stay at 65. 2028 seems to be a stretch.
  23. To be honest I don't think this era of 65 is as scary as it was in the past and getting a medal is much less daunting. Used to have some crazy podiums made up of Chamizo, Asgarov, Ramanov or in the cycle after with Rashidov, Otoguro, Bajrang, Aliyev and Musukaev. I don't put this era of 65 close to the past two.
  24. Yes, he was in his corner for the olympics also
