  1. Japan sends the trial runner up to asians, you will see they have a totally different team between worlds and asians. They do the same for juniors also. I think it's a good way to let more guys get international experience. Russia also sends their trials runner up to euros. USA is wrestling pan ams which is a terrible continent for wrestling.
  2. Actually I forgot the 92 guy. He should win. Ukraines 80kg must be a national war hero. He beat Iran and Russia for gold.
  3. Also we have 0 chance in any of the finals. 0 golds this year for cadets fs
  4. Damn lol I see even the 80kg kid lost to Ukraine. Thought he would get gold. As windows said, its 3 - 1, but yes. We may underperform considering how well funded the federation is lately and more importantly the amount of wrestlers we have. USA is lucky all their more talented guys wrestle freestyle/folkstyle, our talent is split between greco and fs. We would do better if Sourian, Saravi, Esmaili etc had all done freestyle also. Japan probably overperforms the most in terms of medals compared to total number of wrestlers.
  5. Lol, they only have A and C available on the mobile app. Typical UWW!
  6. Says mat A is offline for me
  7. Russia beat japan and then lost to armenia if you are referring to 71kg
  8. Finals day 1 48 - USA - Iran 55 - Japan - Uzbekistan 65 - USA - Azerbaijan 80 - Iran - Ukraine 110 - India - Russia
  9. India making a comeback
  10. Ukraine beats russia
  11. Japan's 55 is tough
  12. No clue. Historically we are weak at HW. Just recently it changed somewhat. Our junior heavies are pretty bad this year. We will see what this guy can do at cadets. Will certainly be some interesting semi finals.
  13. They are at cadets for wfs. Maybe it was only the greco team that did not get approved.
  14. I think a lot of euro countries just won't give them visas.
  15. It seems that there is no Russia at this year's cadet worlds. I wonder if they will make it to juniors and seniors.
  16. I believe this will be iran's team: 57 - Hadadi ( 2025 junior asian bronze) 61 - khateri ( 2023 cadet world champ) 65 - tat 70 - elahi ( 2022 cadet world champ, 2025 junior asian champ) 74 - mamivand - 2025 junior asian champ 79 - yousefi - 2025 senior asian champ 86 - rahmani - 2025 senior asian champ 92 - nouri - 2025 asian junior silver 97 - alizadeh - 2025 asian junior champ 125 - mohamadnejad
  17. I think you are referring to this clip: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMntHxssrF-/?igsh=MWd1MWV5NGo1bjMwYg== Yes, i am sure he will be getting his weight down to wrestle 86.
  18. I don't know much about him. He won Asian juniors, but we have a long, long list of wrestlers who won junior worlds, let alone junior Asians, around that weight class and went nowhere at the senior level. Many of them even won it dominantly. Azarpira is probably lucky he avoided the curse by never winning junior worlds. It will either be him or Yousefi, I think. Or maybe Hosseini who came second at 71kg at 2023 cadet worlds. He came second to Shamsipour at the junior trials. That is the only somewhat similar name to what is listed that would make sense, but is still a different name.
  19. Some of the wrestlers they have listed for Iran are inaccurate. The lineup should be revealed soon. I have never heard of a wrestler by that name for the guy they have listed as the representative for Iran at 79, so I assume it must be a mistake. They also made some changes after Asian juniors.
  20. It will be worse for Azarpira this time I think
  21. 9 -7. Was a highly entertaining match.
  22. Japan's new guy at 74, Takahashi, is a gorilla.
  23. No, he won the Takhti tournament and beat Emami in the finals. All the notable 74 guys were there but the coaches wanted to send them to a international tournament and this time Yazdani ended up losing to Emami in a close match in the finals. Probably would have been fair to setup a wrestle off between them but the coaches love Emami so they gave him the spot at 74. None of them could medal at 74 anyway so Yaz is probably better off at 70 if he can still make it.
  24. This is funny to me: We sent Sina Khalili and Ebrahimzadeh to the Hungary ranking tournament yesterday at 70kg to help determine to world team member. Khalili won bronze and Ebrahimzadeh came 5th. So who made the world team at 70? Amir Yazdani! Lol. Yes, despite not wrestling at 70 the entire year he is officially the world team member. They tried a few guys at 70kg like Khalili, Amouzad's twin brother and Ebrahimzadeh but none of them impressed. And to be honest I can't blame the coaches. Our other 70 guys are simply not at the level to win a medal, there was no point having Yazdani sit out after a close but failed attempt to make the team at 74. So the world team so far: 57 - Momeni 61 - Javan 65 - Amouzad 70 - Yazdani 74 - Emami 79 - to be determined, almost certainly will be Nokhodi 86 - Ghasempour 92 - Firouzpour 97 - Azarpira 125 - Zare
