  1. How do you think he performs up a weight?
  2. Zack comes across as very likeable even though he spells his name wrong
  3. Dee has said he wants to be at 165 and he doesn't want to redshirt. He wrestled up this year to get tougher competition but I don't think he's truly a 174. Could be down the line, but probably not next year.
  4. 125: Spratley - Peterson 133: ?Sakamoto - Ayala 141: ?Hughes - Bailey 149: ?Jamison - Williams 157: ?Swiderski - Estrada 165: Lockett - Caliendo 174: Facundo - Kennedy 184: Ryder - Ferrari 197: Merrill - ?Ludington 285: Doucet - Kueter Honestly a lot of tossups at this point. It will be more clear once we see some of these guys at these weights, but for now I wouldn't say there's a favorite for the dual. There's still plenty of time left in the portal as well.
  5. 18 months is a long time for teenagers to develop and Vega has improved a lot since then. Still, I think Bassett has a clear weight/strength advantage and he'd be my pick currently.
  6. Cael is mentally weak then, that's why he left Iowa State. Couldn't handle a challenge
  7. Hmm I don't think that 250-follower account is getting official breaking information that no one else has gotten in the 2 hours since they posted it
  8. Not just no inclination, the opposite
  9. I have no issue with your general thought process or coming away thinking Gable would win in a rematch. But to say that Gable dominated Wyatt and the win was a fluke is ... not supported by the evidence.
  10. You can assume anyone who makes statement like this is full of it. Pretends to be on the inside, but gives zero details that could later be proven wrong. Mineo may try to cover up his misses, but at least he puts his name out there and says things that can be verified/disproven rather than this "wait till you guys find out what I already know but won't say" bs
  11. those are the only two possibilities you can think of?
  12. He did the opposite in freestyle. He beat the hell out of the senior field at Team Trials and Final X and then skipped Worlds.
  13. Rooting for Vega but I think Bo has more of an advantage in freestyle
  14. For sure. I think that's fair, but I do distinguish between bringing in new high school recruits vs. bringing in portal guys. I think of high school recruitment mainly as building your program and portal recruitment mainly as filling immediate holes. That seems to be how it's generally used.
  15. What you described is recruiting.
  16. I don't know who acted first, but if you offer to pay a kid to come to your school, that is recruiting
  17. Those don't bother me at all. LLWS is super fun and international and doesn't compete with anything like March Madness. It's grown over a long period of time. The WNBA draft was lightning in a bottle with Clark. What I want to know is who in the hell is watching lacrosse and why
  18. IIRC the viewership peaked at 806,000 during Gable-Hendrickson
  19. That's fair! If you're a title contender though, you will find a way to AA imo
  20. @Fletcher and others are criticizing the practice of recruiting over a guy who is a contender with a guy who might be "2% better" in his words. PSU (fans at least) looked at Ryder as a title contender. Kennedy was R16 when they brought Caliendo in.
  21. What were the criteria in the first year of the Hodge (95?)
  22. Pyles definitely did. He said in his little speech that Carter had the higher bonus % and that he beat the returning national champion twice. JD Rader in his final Hodge ranking where he put Carter #1, has Carter listed at 27-0 (this includes the All Star match) and inexplicably lists his bonus % as 85 and Wyatt's as 80. The guys whose job it is to cover the sport and be unbiased cannot get basic facts right while using their influence to make a pitch for their preferred guy.
