What Nebraksa is doing is certainly impressive. I think the statement is meant to build positive narrative around the team - some people think it means UN won't go after guys in the portal. I don't think that is true. I think they've tried and weren't able to land them. Things don;t go there way so they use what they have at their disposal to sell their success. Any team (or any business) would spin it the same way. No harm, no foul. I just don;t think anyone should have the perception that Nebraska won;t add portal guys if they can get them at a price they can reasonably pay

its just PR spin. They dont have the fund to compete with Iowa, Michigan, tOSU for Guys like Bailey, McNeil, and Stiles. They had a good tournament and they spin all of this to say "built, not bought," but they are trying to buy guys too - just cant compete financially PR 101

nothing pathetic about it. They have the money because of the fan support they garnered by having such an incredible Wrestling history. What would be pathetic is not utilizing the resources to try to become competitive and win a title or you know constantly slinging mud at a program online bc you have nothing better to do

which also doesn't make sense b/c he also wanted to be closer to home. So in summary wanted better situation, wanted to be closer to home, but didn't know if PSU would take him. Basch is the PSU. PR team. He is completely biased and you can tell he coaches the PSU kids that come on his show what to say and uses leading questions strategically. With that being said - his shows are really great if you can looks past the blatant homerism. Particularly the Basch and the brain show with Willie (again you have to get past Willies arrogance) but very informative much better than Flo

I dont think itd be wise for tOSU to RS Chittum - I mean they just had the debacle with Rocco, not to mention Chittum hasn't exactly shown that he likes to stick around a place for too long. I'd imagine Chittum came in to be the 157 starter and Cannon had a plan to change weights - I have thought he looks small for 157 but certainly has a frame to get bigger

Rocco just said hes going 184 and will wrestled 79 kg for Freestlye b.c it is only a few weigh-ins - so clearly no longer wants to wrestle 174 for folk
