  1. Show us on the doll where Oklahoma touched you.
  2. Ok State football went from perennial Big 12 title contender to winless in the conference last season. Gundy is in trouble (contract restructure, pay cut). I hope this kid gets no where near a Cowboy football field. With a history of shoulder issues I can't see Taylor would be for it.
  3. What happened? Neither guy wrestled today? "Load management"?
  4. I was impressed that Volk came back after getting AA last year beating Braeden Davis and exposing Davis's inner temper tantrum. Pretty sad Volk recently got injured and is now out for the year. Weather is a little over stated for Laramie. Sure it can get brutal but visit Minneapolis, Lincoln or Iowa City a few days later when the front moves thru. If a recruit is looking for bright lights and big city night life then Laramie is not it (along with Iowa City, Stillwater and Ames). Any kid who's an outdoorsman knows Laramie is perfectly positioned for world class hiking, camping, fishing and hunting within an hours drive. (skiing is probably a no-no for wrestler knees) Branch has embraced Wyoming culture with some unique duals at the Frontier Days locale and a private dual at a ranch. https://cowboystatedaily.com/2023/11/24/battle-at-the-barn-wrestling-match-was-the-most-wyoming-thing-ever/ https://county10.com/wyoming-wrestling-opens-with-dual-at-cheyennes-frontier-park/ Branch is doing fine at UW. I'm sure the NIL will be a constant hurdle. (Wyoming needs to get out of FBS football and join the Dakota, Montana and Idaho schools in FCS)

  6. Plan: keep it close. Make it a 20 second match. Steal a takedown at the end for a win. Did anyone else think Angelo showed no urgency to escape? No hand control. No Desanto hair on fire movement to get out. It could have been in the plan. He can get ridden for an hour and give up 1 point but if he escapes he could give up 3.
  7. It should be the most well known circumstance regarding Coleman Scott and OKST. If Taylor wins the Trials, then Scott is probably the HC. "Probably" because they hired Smith when we was still competing.
  8. It's a shame that Fix did not get coached by the current staff. Another timeline not mentioned is that when Scott left UNC for an assistant job at Ok State David Taylor was not anywhere on the coaching candidate radar. Taylor's loss at the Olympic trials set the wheels in motion for a gold mine for Ok State and Taylor. The Ok State megadonors made sure the Cowboys didn't miss this opportunity.
  9. Cowboys look better both at CKLV and their early duals. Granted, DT has a better lineup than Smith had the past few years and I'm guessing that lineup quality will continue to get better with each new class. I don't think anyone was saying this about them in the past few years.
  10. Men's FS team has a "Masters age group" vibe to it (except for Vito). I'm surprised that anyone is surprised that only Vito is still in.
  11. Since no one has mentioned it I guess I'm in the minority but I think the leg lace exposure scoring in freestyle is stupid.
  12. 4 years in the college room for me. Wrestling makes you stronger than non-wrestlers but the strength ceiling is low if you are counting on only wrestling to make you stronger.
  13. Could the strength issues be related to the reduced number of weight classes resulting in some serious weight cuts with the accompanying loss of strength? I don't see anyone past the novice wrestler getting "stronger" simply by wrestling. They do get more efficient at using the strength they possess but you don't get stronger without an overload stimulus (more weight on the bar) followed by recovery and adaptation.
  14. Just don't replace it with Lance Armstrong's blood
  15. Any AIN wrestlers like in weightlifting? ("Individual Neutral Athletes" , no flag, no anthem) They were from Russia or Belarus and probably signed a Ukraine War Bad form but are now in Siberia.
  16. Anyone calling the Yazdani shoulder injury a "cramp" has never had a shoulder injury. He is definitely injured. Burroughs makes enough cringy comments without diagnosing medical problems. A shoulder cramp??
  17. The Elor and Hildebrand golds spoiled us.
  18. There is the possibility that if you knew Sarah is a leg lace specialist that her opponents and their coaches knew that too and prepared accordingly especially the Cuban girl who felt the full wrath of that lace at the Pan Am games.
  19. Okla State has neither women's volleyball or women's wrestling but they have a women's equestrian team. To high school vb and wrestling coaches that's a real head scratcher.
  20. This is a huge nut kick to Coleman Scott and John Smith. BUT when Scott was hired from UNC, David Taylor was not even in the picture as a future coach. He was going to be wrestling in the Paris Olympics. Whoops! Also and more importantly, Ok State wrestling then found their own version of T Boone Pickens who did not want money (salary, staff and NIL) to keep them from getting Taylor. it was the best possible move for Okla State if they have any desire to become relevant in the NCAA tournament because Taylor will attract recruits and good assistant coaches. Coleman Scott will be a head coach somewhere and probably a better job than UNC.
  21. The Trials worked. We are sending the best we have at each weight. Historical records mean nothing. I thought Brook's matches with Dieringer and Valencia were more competitive than the finals.
  22. Messenbrink v Messenbrink: I guarantee Messenbrink would have a takedown in the first period. Passivity call would only affect the matches the fans already hate and boo. Attendance means nothing. School spirit will always outdraw the Olympians.
  23. Add Passivity call. Second period never starts 0-0.
