  1. He's jacked, any color jumpsuit would look good on him
  2. Yeah, Ionel reminded me. Over on wrestlestat I've noticed a lot of guys already have "NQ" next to their names, such as Vince Zerban who came up in the unbeaten conversation. Carter Starocci already has NQ next to his name as well. I'm assuming the wrestlestat guy probably has some sort of algorithm crunching numbers on that or something.
  3. I can't imagine anybody sitting out NCAAs because he qualified for the Olympics.
  4. Isn't Glazier a Jr?
  5. Then he should AA comfortably.
  6. If being ranked #1 and being 12-0 isn't enough to get an at large selection, then what is?
  7. Surber hasn't really thrived at 197 like I thought he would. I think he might be more a R16 guy, but he has the capability to AA if the stars align just right
  8. How does it work then?
  9. Me too. I've watched Glazier wrestle several times this year and he's a really tough kid out there. Nothing flashy, but he's a hard worker on the mat. I'm not a Hawkeye fan, but I'm definitely going to be rooting for him to make the podium.
  10. He could walk out to the mat, injury default at 1 sec, and default out the rest of the way. He'd surely get an at-large spot as a 3 time NCAA champion.
  11. It's not all that uncommon anymore for guys to not have a lot of matches before NCAAs. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that scheduling has been pretty light since the COVID epidemic wiped out NCAAs in 2020. Guys don't seem to wrestle in as many tournaments anymore either.
  12. It didn't look like a serious injury to me, but I don't know shit about medicine or knees. Looked like he just tweaked it pretty good. Isn't he an automatic qualifier? He should just sit out Big10s to be on the safe side.
  13. I wouldn't want that, I'd rather just invite the Pac 10 to join the fun in the Big 12 for wrestling! The Big 12 would only have 6 teams then, and I got enough of a tiny conference when the Big 12 was only 5 teams! Plus I like what the new teams have brought to the conference and think the Big 12 is in a pretty decent place, wrestling wise. If we can snag those unaffiliated Pac 12 teams that would be super
  14. I don't think you can say guys are "demonstrably better" than Glazier if they haven't actually wrestled him yet. He's given Aaron Brooks his toughest match of the year so far, which is saying something, and he majored Silas Allred, who was an R12 guy last year. Maybe I'm giving him more credit than he deserves because he doesn't have any "top 10" wins, but he looks pretty strong to me. Granted, there are a lot of pretty tough guys at 197 and I wouldn't be completely shocked if Glazier crapped out and went 0-2 (I've seen it happen to #1 seeds before like Max Askren!).
  15. Zach got smoked by Bastida in the dual 13-4. Also guys earlier were talking about how Bastida can't beat Rocky. He actually has a couple wins over Rocky from early in his career.
  16. Remember the shit Austin Gomez talked and how he got humbled at NCAAs?
  17. It's pretty sad to think the Pac 12 is going the way of the dodo. That conference has been around for over 100 years in some form or another. About 50 years ago pretty much all the Pac 8 (was Pac 8 at the time) had wrestling programs, including USC and UCLA. I remember Washington and WSU had decent programs at one time
  18. Wow, the Big 12 looks pretty strong based on those seedings. The Big 10 is still the granddaddy, but the Big 12 is strong.
  19. Glazier was 9-7 as a sparsely used backup prior to this season. This year he's 16-1 with over 70% of his wins by way of bonus, including an 11-2 major over Silas Allred (probably his best win). He doesn't have many "premium" wins with his win over Allred and Surber from OSU probably being his biggest wins. How good is he? The way I see it, Glazier rode the bench behind Jacob Warner, a 5 time All American (including 2020). A lot of really good wrestlers would've rode the bench behind Warner. I remember getting whipped by a "B" team kid back in HS. I was astonished because I was an All State wrestler myself, how could the B team kid beat me? Because he was B team behind a dominant 3 time state champion, who he wrestled everyday in practice. I didn't feel so bad when that 190 pound B teamer only lost to the 4A State HWT champ 4-3 . That said, Warner was not a super dominant champion or anything, but I think Glazier looks pretty solid, especially considering his close match vs a rusty Ferrari. I think Glazier will finish top 5. What do you guys think?
  20. You'd have to lose about 80 pounds first, wouldn't you?
  21. I'd probably dig it. Best case scenario: One of the PSU "all praise to Jesus" guys gets upset in the finals. His opponent is interviewed and says the following in a very rough, evil sounding voice: "Satan is stronger. Hail Satan", while doing the satanic hand symbol. Can you imagine the chatter after that?
  22. Mats are for pussies.
  23. I remember seeing scores at the state tournament that blew my mind in the pre-techfall era. I remember a kid from Midwest City beating an opponent 34-9!
  24. I just assumed nearly all the starters were held out to rest up. Oops! I let my FLO subscription lax (and they'll never see another cent of mine again) and couldn't see the interview with Smith
