  1. Looks like you have your next data project. Time to get researching on the heights off all past Olympic/World Champs at each weight.
  2. Oh. I misread. I thought he was posting the qualifiers with weights. Not actual listed entries. My bad.
  3. There won't be any new entries. This is qualifiers only. The last chance to qualify is Sr. Pan-Am and everyone going has qualified.
  4. Actually, yes. They would be cheering for the PSU/NLWC dude over the American. As someone that has been to world's a few times, many USA "fans" go for their college team reps and not the USA rep. That's not to say they don't root for USA, but if it's USA vs Iowa or USA vs PSU, they would root for their team the majority of the time.
  5. He didn't get out-wrestled. But there was very little wrestling. Bo got the only TD. RdR tried some upper body stuff that Bo stopped easily. He did get reversed and spent more time on bottom though. I'm not a MMA person, but I don't know that I would attribute that to wrestling. Can't say I've seen someone go down that "easily" before at that level.
  6. 125: Spencer Moore (R16) 133: Lucas Byrd (Champ, 3X AA, 4X NQ) 141: Danny Pucino (R16, 2X NQ) 149: Michael Gioffre 157: Kannon Webster (R12) 165: Braeden Scoles (R12) 174: Chris Kelly (RFR) 184: Ruth (AA, 3x NQ) 197: Chris Moore (True freshman NQ @ 165) 285: Luke Luffman (R12, 3X NQ) ----- Connell is just as likely to not even qualify as he is to qualify. There is no way Ruth isn't qualifying. I don't think Connell is in the lineup next year unless he can get to 174. Moore wrestled 86KG at the open instead of 79. That tells me 174 is a bit too far away. He won't be Ruth out. 197 is the spot, especially with no one else there. Though it sounds like Lautt might be on his way there soon, but Moore would beat him, even if under-sized.
  7. The thought process is that the mouthpiece can absorb some of the energy that goes through the jaw to the brain from impact. I think headgear padding works minimally, as well. But it's really impossible to know because it may not prevent concussions, but it may prevent some of the consistent banging the head gets that builds up.
  8. I’d say that the idea is to help prevent concussions even though there is no true evidence that it either helps or doesn’t yet. I can say from personal experience, I used to get 1-2 concussions a year for a few years in HS/College. I started to wear a mouthpiece and have never had one since. I’d never wrestle without one again.
  9. USA Wrestling doesn't have him on their list as qualifiers. It seems the Non-Olympic weights only had 1 national team member in 2024.
  10. This is from the NCAA from a case where a Wisconsin FB player wanted to enter the portal and Wisconsin wouldn't allow it. So he went to Miami anyway. The NCAA issued a statement Friday saying that "NCAA rules do not prevent a student-athlete from unenrolling from an institution, enrolling at a new institution and competing immediately." The key is are they recruited by the staff. That would be illegal. (No, i'm not going to get into the debate about back channeling and all that.)
  11. Cael would certainly have a pretty good idea on that. He was enrolled in college in Japan. No idea how long he was there. The other factor would be if he was paid above typical expenses to participate in events and thus considered a professional. Each year he was would be a year of eligibility. Anyone know when he graduated HS in Japan and when he was enrolled in college? That would be a great starting point.
  12. Grad transfers have the same portal deadline as everyone else. It was changed after last year's window. Trepham as a grad transfer was allowed to enter the portal starting Oct 1.

But I think this is everyone. I did Top-4 for national team based upon The team listed on TheMat.
  14. There is only 1 world team member. That's the person that competes at worlds. The national team is where multiple members exist. 2023 World Team Current National Team
