  1. I wasn't, but because of the article that showed that we only have a broken facet of our political system, I'm right back at it. I do find it interesting though that one of the signature features of authoritarianism and the current GOP's efforts to achieve it, you folks spend a lot of time making voting more difficult. In your case, you're telling people not to vote in democracy. Hmmm...
  2. I'm trying.
  3. I vote, I follow politics, and advocate for social causes. That'd do it.
  4. I live here and follow only UNI, so allow me to learn ya. For starters, the renovations in the wrestling room began before our current AD came on board. If it was SO CLEAR (it wasn't) that the entire building was going to be condemned, and our AD was not here, why didn't the construction crews, the donors, the coaches, and the FORMER AD stop the presses on that renovation, which have now proven to be a waste of millions of dollars? Keep in mind, it should have been SO CLEAR to our current AD, how did it escape the hunnerts ( as we say in Minnesota) prior? See, it doesn't fall on the new black guy in town, nor does it fall on any one person. NO ONE knew the building would be condemned. Got it now? Good...
  5. Heck, yeah, thanks Biden! If billions are being spent on economic, commercial, and infrastructure development that means that Biden isn't hurting us here!
  6. As I said before, Sweden sure proved that sinister Fauci wrong, eh!?
  7. Yes, regarding today. That's all that matters, given the current allegations. No need to muddy the waters. Democrats are telling him to resign, calling him a criminal, and not defending him. Republicans cannot say the same about ol' 91.
  8. Yet, book and curriculum bans represent freedom! Just watch our authoritarian gubner here in Iowa become a sheep, as her husband goes through his cancer treatments. Suddenly, masks aren't so dictatorial after all!
  9. Who cares? He's a criminal today and deserves all consequences for his actions. Too bad the GOP has been duped into believing that Democrats are or enemies, versus criminal politicians.
  10. Nonsense. I don't go down Q-anon rabbit holes, and nor should you. Stupidity at its finest.
  11. And that relates to the dysfunction in the GOP in which way, HUD?
  12. I said that if the crumbling facility was so clear and obvious, and the AD is solely the one responsible for not realizing that, why were millions put into renovating the wrestling room just a few years ago? In short, a lot of parties missed the boat, with not one party solely being responsible. Bottom line is that it's a condemned building and somehow no one saw this coming.
  13. Ah, yes, of course, another of those geniuses. Deep thinking indeed.
  14. I also can't help but notice how Joe Biden is this international criminal mastermind who can weave together all of these entities into one big enterprise. Then, on the other hand, he apparently can't tie his own shoes.
  15. I had been falsely thinking since the last two election cycles that our political system was broken. Therefore, I opted to not vote for any partisan offices in the last two cycles because of my false belief that it was a broken, dysfunctional system that I would no longer participate in. In the past few months I came to realize the problem and why I was incorrectly being led down that rabbit hole. This article validates my "a-ha" moment and why I'm back with political activism. Very well written. https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/22/opinions/trump-government-shutdown-mccarthy-congress-burns/index.html
  16. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
  17. They're still saying it.
  18. Wrong person. This criminal is a "cognitive mess " as HUD McVeigh Hannity parrots. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/18/trump-biden-age-election-2024
  19. Ah, yes. The ol" " it's true enough, " and/or "it's plausible, therefore true" strikes again. Still no charges or indictments on any of these names, are there?
  20. Waterloo and Cedar Falls is crumbling!? That's news to us! That also must be why there are billions of dollars being spent as we speak on new buildings, bidnesses, and roads, eh? As the kids say, " stay in your lane. "
  21. And suddenly is quoting the CDC. They must disagree with Hunter Biden now.
  22. Nope, the Mayo Clinic, in fact, is almost exactly on the same page as the CDC, which you now curiously support, ma'am. Huh?!
  23. The Mayo Clinic disagrees with you again, ma'am.
  24. Everyone here in town wants to blame the AD for EVERYTHING that goes wrong in town, including non- university related things, but what can he do when a building has been condemned? The wrestling team already secured millions just a few years ago to renovate their wrestling room. If people had the foresight that we expect our AD to have, then they should have used those funds to renovate the building, and not just build a wrestling room. Yes, it's more complicated than just one person.
  25. And, Sweden's plan REALLY rocked it too. Derned libberols!
